Sophy Robson's Nail Bar at Hari's is, in her own words, 'fly'. Prepare to be spoilt, pampered and amazed by her signature treatments and highly creative approach.

I've done it again. I've signed myself up for a pedicure. Despite aforementioned 'fear of own feet' syndrome (see my previous, red-faced Cowshed review) I'm laying them in the hands of a poor, poor stranger and expecting an actual cure for their bedraggled, red raw condition.

Happily, Sophy Robson, nail doctor (as I will now know her), was on call to prescribe her acclaimed medi-pedi (£55 for one hour), to be accompanied by some fabulously cheerful nail art (from £5) to take the edge off my foot-fretting.

In truth, I have never been so excited to attend a nail appointment. Sophy and her team have worked their celebrated mani-magic on such big name icons as Alicia Keys, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and um... Boris Johnson. That's right. But that was in honour of the Olympics, for which Sophy and her impeccably trained staff set to work painting 207 flag designs onto athletes nails. Basically, Sophy Robson is an Olympian. And she is at the top of her game.

I arrived at Hari's King's Road Salon to meet Naringa, one of Sophy's highly talented associates. I was quite literally swept off my feet, relieved of my coat and cocooned within the comfort of Sophy's nail bar in the space of minutes.

As my feet were gently bathed, filed and scrubbed, I noted that a lady at the shampoo basin was very much enjoying her head massage, and her pet Chihuahua was also appreciating his own. Hari's is undoubtedly a heavenly haven for all.

Naringa's healing hands and technical skill were apparent and impressive throughout the hour-long medi-pedi. She adapted the treatment to my individual concerns, of which there were, admittedly, many. Light of touch and soothing of voice, I couldn't have asked for a more calming, reassuring therapist. The pedicure finished with a glossy coating of nude Essie polish. Chic feet were the order of the day.

As for my fingernails, I went all-out festive. Some wear jumpers, some go mad with outdoor neon lighting;  my Christmas decoration of choice for this year is nail art. Having browsed Sophy and Naringa's portfolio of mani-masterpieces, we decided on a bespoke, seasonal design. Naringa filed, buffed and shaped my nails before applying turquoise and gold base colours. The next step involved some very precise paintbrush work to adorn my nails with tiny, delicate snowflakes.

In spite of the chill, the gloves have stayed off since my appointment and my merry manicure has attracted multiple admirers. Clearly, in welcoming Sophy to his salon, Hari knows what's hot. Oh, and kudos to Boris too.

Top tip: Purchase a 'Someone Loves You' Pedicure Gift Voucher (£55) and book a manicure for free.
