Trish McEvoy Gorgeous Cream Bronzer, £38, refills £29

"I heard that a very well-known makeup artist practically ripped this cream bronzer out of a fellow MUA's hand, she wanted it that much. I’m not surprised – it looks great in close-up, no sinking into pores – and strikes that perfect balance between glow and grown-up subtlety, steering clear of 3D pigments and shimmer. The refillable statement compact is hefty and comes with a decent mirror. Trish was using magnetic refills way before anyone else, so users could customise their palettes."

Bellissima Prodigy Styler, £249.99

“This has got to be the fastest wave in the West! If you want to put a quick curl in your hair without the faff of twizzling and tonging, this genius air styler does the hard work. I’d buy it for the curl attachments alone, which use the same ‘Coanda’ technology as the Dyson Airwrap, ‘vortexing’ your hair around the barrel to set the curl. It makes styling the back of your head a cinch too. There are four more attachments, a dryer, a straightening brush and two barrel brushes - it's one of the most versatile stylers around.”

Teresa Tarmey The Anti+ Serum, £120

“With decades of experience as a red carpet facialist and aesthetic practitioner, Teresa Tarmey knows how to pep up tired and ageing skin – fast. Her signature 12-week at-home Microneedling Kit, £220, with peptide ampoules, is still hard to beat. Now she’s put those same plumping and firming peptides into this hydrating and anti-inflammatory anti-oxidant gel serum called The Anti+ to use morning and night. The lightweight hydration is such a treat, I really look forward to using it and know my skin is in expert hands.”

Subtle Energies Pomegranate Enzyme Mask, £115

“Ayurveda aromatherapy brand Subtle Energies now has an Advanced Biotech Skincare range and if you are looking for the ultimate high-end performance natural products, these have got to be top of your list. So far, there is a vegan collagen serum, and the best hyaluronic acid rerum on the planet (no stickiness or pilling) plus this enzyme mask. You leave it on for a few minutes and feel a very gentle tingle and emerge as if you’ve had a facial (the Subtle Energies facial made our edit of best facials in London). Pricey, yes, but it will give you a good few months of weekly glow-ups.”

Nudestik Stax All Over Color Blush Balm in Love & Roses, £22.50

"Not only do I love the colour of this blusher, I am obsessed with the texture. It starts out as a springy, bouncy balm texture and then dries to a velvety smooth powder finish. There are seven wearable shades to choose from and, should you buy more than one, they satisfiyingly stack on top of each other magnetically to save space in your makeup bag."

Josh Wood Miracle Hair Oil, £15

"Fine hair and oil aren’t always the best match, however if there’s anyone that I trust to create an oil that doesn’t weigh my hair type down (while also working for every other hair type too) it’s hair impresario Josh Wood. Containing a blend of three lightweight oils - kukui nut, babassu and pracaxi oils - it’s super hydrating, brilliant for detangling and also helps lock colour in place. It’s pretty versatile in its use too. Apply to wet hair before styling, on dry hair to tame flyaways and frizz, as an overnight scalp treatment or a pre-shampoo treatment. Oh, it smells gorgeous too."

By Terry Hyaluronic Serum Concealer, £39

"A concealer that feels like serum to apply, contains hydrating ingredients and looks glowy not cakey - I’m in! Thank goodness for this launch from By Terry. On days when wearing foundation or skin tints feels too much of a faff, I’ve been dabbing this on where required to coverup redness, brighten dark circles and conceal pigment patches, but it works equally well when paired with more makeup too. You can use a brush to buff it in but a few light pats with a finger is very efficient too thanks to the hydrating texture being super easy to blend. It comes in 12 ‘stretchy’ shades."

Dr Idriss Major Fade Hyper Serum, £70

"The beauty world is abuzz over the UK launch of this US derm-founded skincare brand. Dr Idriss is a well-regarded, straight-talking, uber-qualified skin doctor. All her products contain active ingredients in quantities that work, and are fragrance-free and allergy-tested. The serum caught my eye thanks to its unique needle-like packaging (there are no needles involved) and the fact that it contains everything required to get skin glowing; kojic acid to blitz dark spots, alpha arbutin to unify skin tone, and niacinamide and glycerin to strengthen the skin barrier. It comes with a refill so once you're done with one cartridge you pop in the next. This helps maintain the ingredients' efficacy levels and makes it decent value for money for such a super serum."

Kerry Potter, GTG Contributing Editor, has found her autumn SPF

The Fast 800 Clear Protein Apple & Blackcurrant, £29.99

"I think of this as Ribena with benefits. You mix 20g of the powder with 300ml water for a 16g protein boost. That’s less than many other protein shakes but it suits me, as very protein-dense ones often make me feel sick. I drink this late afternoon, when dinner is still hours off or I have a gym session straight after work. From the late Dr Michael Mosley’s diet company, this whey-based drink has a pleasingly short ingredients list (fewer weird UPF additions than many similar products). And I like that it’s a straightforward proposition – it’s not stuffed with vitamins, adaptogens etc so it doesn’t clash with my daily supplements."

Olaplex No 5 Moisturize & Mend Leave-In Conditioner, £30

"As someone with frazzled post-summer hair, this spoke to me. I use a tiny amount (less than one pump) of this cream on the mid-lengths and ends of my hair before blow drying and it completely banishes the usual annoying wispiness and adds a level of softness I never achieve with a spray-in conditioner. It’s also a heat protector and seems to have some kind of styling muscle too (although isn’t marketed as such) – my hair just generally behaves better."

Balance Me Azelaic Dark Spot Serum, £40

"Balance Me products so often strike a perfect, er, balance of feeling gentle on the skin and smelling divine with proven active ingredients and tangible results. Case in point: this citrus and lavender-scented serum which hunts down hyperpigmentation, using azelaic acid and niacinamide. The light texture layers well under moisturiser and while I haven’t tested it for long enough yet to see it nix my dark patches, a clinical trial (the first the independent British brand has conducted) saw excellent results."

Heliocare 360 Oil Free Compact in Beige, £28

"We get sent an overwhelming amount of sun protection to test but I always immediately snaffle anything new from Heliocare. The trustworthy, derm-led Spanish brand always delivers, with its high level broad-spectrum UVB and UVA protection encapsulated within impeccable formulations. This mattifying sunscreen-meets-foundation compact is no exception and I use it for SPF touch-ups during the day, particularly on my shine-prone nose. The creamy texture is lovely and the medium coverage lasts well. It's not an inclusive shade range though – there are currently only two to choose from."

Bali Body Gradual Tanning Butter, £26.95

"If you’re looking to keep that summer glow going into autumn, a gradual tanner is a must and this one is really rich and creamy so will keep autumn-parched skin hydrated too. It's packed with skin-loving ingredients like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and shea butter. I’d suggest applying before bed (it develops within 6 hours) - and remember to wash your hands afterwards."

Glow Recipe Blackberry Retinol Blemish Serum, £40

"Retinol was recommended to me to help clear blemishes and strengthen my skin barrier. I was a bit hesitant at first, so looked for something gentle yet effective. Enter this from Glow Recipe. The formula contains 0.16 per cent retinol, retinal, and retinyl ester to clear blemishes and unblock pores as well as 8 per cent glycerin and ectoin to soothe sensitive skin. Use on alternate days to let your skin adjust and follow with SPF. I'm three weeks in and my skin is already looking healthier and clearer."

Tweezerman Stainless Steel Gua Sha, £19.31

"I’m new to the gua sha world but after a few TikTok tutorials, I’ve found it brings a relaxation element to my routine. I've been using a few drops of face oil to provide some slip and then I start in the middle of the face, sweeping outwards towards the hairline and then do some sweeps from the base of the neck up to the chin. The stainless steel feels cooling and soothing and regular use is known to boost blood circulation, aid lymphatic drainage and helps release muscle tension. Plus, it survived a drop on my tiled bathroom floor without breaking—bonus!"

Raybalm SPF 50+ Lip Balm, £5.99

"It's rare to find a great SPF lip balm (yep, it's still good to wear SPF on your lips in autumn and winter)that will give you change from a tenner, but miracles do happen and this is one. The vegan formulation contains nourishing ingredients like castor seed oil, shea butter, avocado and jojoba oils. It feels smooth to apply, isn't sticky and has a subtle citrus scent. My friend, who's a builder and outdoors in all weathers, said it’s great for hydrating his dry lips and doesn’t look too shiny - it’s passed the test for both a builder and beauty lover."

Ren Clean Skincare Bio Retinoid Youth Serum, was £57.75 now £46.20

"Retinol is well known for its rejuvenating skin benefits but if you’ve got sensitive skin it can be hard to tolerate. But if any brand can create a retinoid that's efficacious and caring, it's Ren. The formula has three skin-targetting ingredients; a plant based alternative to retinol, bidens pilosa that works in the same way to soften the appearance of wrinkles, phytoceramides to strenghten the skin barrier and reduce the chances of sensitivity as well as niacinamide to even skin tone. Unlike conventional retinol products it can be used day and night, which I have been doing  with no nasty side effects."

Jo Loves Black, Cashmeran and Tonka Perfume, £105 for 50ml

"If you love a rich and spicy fragrance especially in the colder and darker months when it seems most apt, you are going to love this new scent from Jo Loves. Tonka is a rich vanilla note that gives the perfume a sort of creaminess. Cashmeran is warm, woody and spicy and combined make this a gorgeously musky and comforting scent to wear. The packaging is pretty fabulous too and would make a gorgeous Christmas gift to give or receive."

Kevin Murphy Anti Gravity Spray, £23.80

"If you struggle with flat and lifeless hair you will love this volumising spray from one of Australia’s leading hair stylists, Kevin Murphy. It's a best-seller and has undergone a slight packaging transformation to celebrate the brand's 20th birthday but thankfully the formula has stayed the same. The lightweight spray adds volume, works as a hair primer pre-blowdrying and also works as a leave-in conditioner. It’s oil-free and adds shine as well as serious oomph to my fine hair."

Epres Healthy Hair Shampoo, was £31 now £27.90

"I've been using the Epres bond repair treatment for a while and it has transformed the strength and health of my hair. And now they've launched a shampoo which contains some of the same bond-repairing ingredients and technology, but it's main function is to deeply cleanse hair and scalp without weighing it down with silicones and plastics (that are normally found in cheaper shampoos). A great option if you have coloured, dry or damaged hair that needs some extra TLC."
