In most workplaces, collecting packages from the post room isn’t the most thrilling of tasks. Not at GTG though - we actually fight over who gets to grab the newly arrived goodies. Each week all the new beauty and wellbeing launches wing their way to us, and we test them out and pick our absolute favourites for Glossy Picks. Here are the latest standout new buys - and if you’re in the market for hair like Beyoncé, the internet’s favourite fragrance or a lip balm that smells like a sweetshop, then you are in luck…

SJ Corfield-Smith, GTG beauty director, is holding onto her summer glow (whatever it takes)

Phlur Soft Spot EDP, £99 for 100ml

"Meet the newest scent from cult fragrance line, Phlur. If you're familiar with the brand then you'll know of their best-selling scent, Missing Person. This is of a similar ilk but with a bit more oomph. Unfamiliar? Phlur is a cool, US perfume purveyor and the reason, I think, it has proved so successful is because the majority of their scents have a baseline of musk. Musk has the ability to smell like a second skin, so Phlur scents become part of the wearer and create that aura of someone who happens to smell great, rather than someone who has doused themselves in perfume. And this is another great example of that. It’s a mix of amber, sandalwood and musk but with fruity and floral notes on top. I predict this will be another sellout."

Naked Sundays Cabana Glow Mineral Glow Serum Drops Sheer Tint SPF 50, £38.40

"When a brand is completely dedicated to only making SPFs you better believe they know what they’re doing. That is how it is with Aussie SPF brand, Naked Sundays - and as we know Australia has the strictest SPF regulations in the world, making their sun protection products the most elite. This is the newest variant of their serum drops - there is already a bronze and illuminating version of this but now they have launched a sheer version. Unlike the other two this doesn’t have any sparkle in it, however it does still create a very natural glow to skin. It’s that ‘your skin but better’ vibe. It comes out a slightly peachy tone and disappeared completely on my skin. I would hope that would be the same for all skin tones."

Nécessaire The Hand Retinol, £36

"I’m getting to a stage in life where the back of my hands need more than just a hydrating hand cream. Step in this pigmentation blasting and skin-plumping retinol-infused number from Necessaire. It contains 0.25 per cent retinol, the sweet spot, percentage-wise, for use on dry skin (which often our hands are) and also the reason the cream is slightly yellow in colour (retinol is naturally yellow). You can use it whenever you wish, however given its active ingredient you need to apply SPF on top during the day. I keep it on my bedside table and use it at night. The consistency is lovely and velvety so won’t leave your hands greasy."

Trish McEvoy Light & Lift Face Color in Glow & Bronze, £68

"I would argue that now is the time we all most need bronzer to keep that summer glow glowing. If you’re on the hunt for a newbie, this is a good one that will see you through the rest of 2024 and into next year. It’s a two-sided jobby - a golden bronzer on one side and a shimmering peach highlighter on the other. Use separately, together, whatever you fancy. I’ve been sweeping the bronzer over the apples of my cheeks, across the bridge of my nose and chin and then using the highlighter on my eyelids and cheekbones"

Ingeborg van Lotringen, GTG contributing beauty editor, is mostly into exfoliants this week

Clinique High Impact Gel Tech Eyeliner in Black Honey, £23.50

"You gotta hand it to TikTok: it managed to turn Clinique’s age-old Black Honey lipstick into such a phenomenon, it’s now a franchise, to the point where they turned the shade into an eye pencil! That’s not as out-there as it sounds, because Black Honey is really a deep plum, a shade that’s known to off-set your eye colour. Green and blue eyes in particular will ’pop’ against it, and as it’s a black-blue-based purple rather than a burgundy with red undertones, you don’t end up with sore-looking eyes. Plus, gel tech liner nibs are so small they’re perfect for fine-lining, and their staying power is top-notch."

Murad Retexturizing Body + Face Pads, £49

"These acid exfoliant-infused treatment pads are designed to be wiped anywhere you have an ingrown hair, bumpy chicken skin, or feel a breakout coming on. This application method is more convenient than a body wash, which never seems to last on your skin long enough before it goes down the plughole, and ideal for people who aren't keen on a body cream (of which there are plenty available with exfoliating acids), Drenched in 2 per cent spot-busting salicylic plus deeply exfoliating glycolic acid, they also have soothing and antibacterial acid of-the-moment azelaic, plus amino acids which don’t peel but dampen irritation. They're effective (as you'd hope for that price) - a few applications should solve the problem. And they can even be used on the face, but don’t overdo it.

Optase Life Sensitive Eye Makeup Remover, £9.99

"According to Optase, 46 per cent of us have sensitive eyes - that seems high but the fact is eye skin needs to be handled with care, and a lot of eye makeup removers feature  ingredients that can irritate or congest. This preservative, fragrance and oil-free micellar water is clinically proven not to upset eye skin, calming and rehydrating it instead with panthenol, manuka honey and hyaluronic acid.  It's a god-send if you constantly suffer from red, inflamed eyes, but it's not for you if you're a fan of long-wear eye pencils and eyeshadows: this remover hardly makes a dent in those kinds of products. I also doubt it will remove waterproof mascara, even if it says it will."

Farm Girl 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, £36

"Oily, combination, acne-prone skin or even just normal-to-dry skin with the odd breakout – almost anyone can benefit from a liquid salicylic acid exfoliant, especially a hydrating, lightweight and unscented one like this. It contains 2 per cent salicylic, the maximum concentration allowed, so these liquids are potent, but because sal acid is anti-inflammatory as well as pore-unclogging and exfoliating, more skins get on with it. Smooth onto skin with a cotton pad post-cleansing (preferably at night) and let the clarifying, smoothing and plumping happen. There’s hydrating glycerin, protective green tea and calming cucumber and lactobacillus ferment in here as well, so it’s an all-round liquid treatment."

Isla Huffadine, GTG content coordinator, puts the new Charlotte Tilbury mascara through its paces

Marc Jacobs Daisy Wild Eau de Parfum, was £85 now £68 for 50ml

"We’re all familiar with the iconic Daisy fragrance, a cult favourite for many, and now there’s a new addition to the collection. It’s hard to take your eyes off the statement bottle, it has to be the cutest packaging yet with its signature floral lid and ‘stems' extending into the fragrance. This version smells more refreshing than the others, still floral but with a blend of banana blossom, jasmine and sandalwood to create a light, long-lasting scent. And big shout-out to the fact that there is a 150ml refill option available at the same price as a 100ml bottle, making it a win for both the environment and your wallet."

Charlotte Tilbury Exaggereyes Volume Mascara, £28

"As the bold name and packaging suggest, this isn’t what you’d reach for if you want a subtle look. But if you’re after bold, voluminous lashes, this might be the ticket. The real test was seeing if it could live up to its 28-hour volume claim. While I wasn’t keen on sleeping in it, I did wear it to a sweaty gig and was surprised to come home looking intact - no panda eyes or flaking in sight. It certainly provides oomph and length, so for that reason I’ve added it to my going-out makeup rotation."

Then I Met You Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel, £36

"Once again TikTok has stirred excitement over a new launch, this time it’s the arrival of ‘Then I Met You’ at Space NK. This Korean brand focuses on creating a deeper connection with your skincare, treating it as a daily ritual. I love the cleansing gel, formulated with fermented rice water and green tea for a soothing and nourishing cleanse. It’s designed to remove makeup residue and daily grime, while the rice water helps keep skin clear without leaving it feeling stripped. What's more the gentle blend hasn’t irritated my acne-prone skin."

Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in Sweet Candy, £17.50

"SJ is obsessed with tinted lip balms, so I had to seek out the new candy-scented balm from Laneige to jump on her bandwagon. I can confirm the cult following for this one is justified- the signature blend of murumuru and shea butter nourishes and softens the lips, leaving them hydrated and the sheer pink tint is subtle enough for everyday wear but adds a slight pop of colour. Plus, the balm has a glossy finish, smells like a candy shop and is perfectly sized to toss in your bag for maintaining a juicy pout."

Florence Scordoulis, GTG contributing editor, is crazy in love with Beyoncé's new conditioner

Cecred Hydrating Conditioner, £28

"Earlier this year, Beyonce broke the internet with the launch of her first hair care line, Cecred: a collection of seven ultra-hydrating shampoos, conditioning masks and stylers formulated with African oils (baobab, moringa and black seed) - inclusive of textured hair types. I’ve tried the full range and, being a curly girl, loved it: but the 20-minute treatments were too high-maintenance. So, this new one-minute conditioner is a game-changer. With a high-slip formula, it has a lightweight, yet elastic consistency that makes detangling stubborn knots a breeze. My curls felt instantly softer and silkier. And, the heady temple oud scent of violet, musk, jasmine, sandalwood and vetiver, upgrades even a quick wash day to Queen Bee levels of luxury."

AlphaH Retinol Reboot Exfoliating Body Treatment, £31.99

"Body care is fast becoming the new skincare - and the latest swap for your body butter is this overnight anti-ageing treatment, designed to refresh your neck, décolletage and beyond. A multi-tasking formula of glycolic acid buffs away dead skin, so that the 1 per cent retinol can penetrate deeper. This improves the appearance of sun damage, redness, uneven texture and wrinkles. The lotion has a light, milky consistency, so it’s easy to apply and fast-absorbing (to be used three alternate nights a week). Don’t forget to follow up with sun cream the next day."

Athletia Advanced Day Cream, £72

"The latest innovation by the Japanese skincare pros at Athletia - who are all about using natural ingredients to benefit your skin, body and mind - is their first day cream: which launches next week. The ‘water-lipid’ formula, containing plant-based cholesterol and macadamia nut oil, creates a protective barrier around the skin to lock in hydration throughout the day. Plus, there’s a cocktail of antioxidants including sage leaf and white tea extract, which protect against environmental damage. The SPF 20 will just about do in winter. And, the eco-friendly glass pot is tiny, but a pearl-sized amount of the lightweight cream - with its silky, oily-to-watery texture - goes a long way towards visibly plumper, dewier skin. Plus, a sniff of the jasminey, citrus scent is like therapy."

Bioeffect EGF Power Eye Cream, £115

"This Icelandic brand - particularly its EGF Power Serum - already has cult status for being like youth in a bottle, thanks to its founders’ Nobel-prize-winning research into star skincare ingredient, EDF: epidermal growth factors. Naturally found in the body, these deplete with age, so they’ve engineered a plant-based alternative (using barley seed extract) to support the skin’s natural collagen production and smooth fine lines. This new day and night eye cream has a delicate formula - including caffeine, niacinamide and bakuchiol - that reduces crow’s feet, dark circles and puffiness without irritation. Its rich, silky consistency is ideal for dry or mature skin, but sinks in fast - so your makeup won’t smudge."
