SJ Corfield-Smith, GTG beauty director, has been hiding products from her daughter

Cerave Oil Control Moisturising Gel-Cream, £16.49

"Cerave can’t put a foot wrong in my opinion. Their trademark blend of three ceramides, unscented formulations and use of ingredients designed to strengthen and repair the most vulnerable of skin types means everyone is catered for. And their newest moisturiser is aimed at oily and combination skins, which is me. This is a no-fuss, lightweight, daily moisturiser that hydrates but doesn’t overstimulate oil glands, so my skin feels soft but stays shine and oil-free. Perfection."

Dr Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution Hydrating Lip Mask, £22

"If there is a new lip balm out there, I will find it and this one was a joy to discover. It is on the pricey side but it would make a cute gift for the lip balm-obsessed in your life (I can’t be the only one). It contains hyaluronic acid, a key skin hydrator, but the standout aspect is the texture. It starts as a bouncy jelly (I was worried it was going to feel sticky) and then melts into a buttery balm, leaving lips feeling like velvet. It also comes, in case you hadn’t noticed, in a bear-shaped pot which makes me smile every time I get it out of my handbag."

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 76, £24

"I had to keep this hidden from my daughter when it landed on my desk - great is the obsession with Sol de Janeiro amongst the pre-teen and teens. While I find many of the other Sol scents a bit too much - although I am often exposed to a deluge when I walk into the aforementioned daughter’s bedroom so I should reassess when regular amounts are used - this one sits very well with me indeed. It contains a blend of jasmine, freesia and amber - a bit musky but not too heavy. And a couple of spritzes are (honestly) all you need. For days when perhaps perfume seems too much but you still want something - post gym, WFH days for example - this is a great option."

Glossier Boy Brow Arch Pomade Pencil, £24

"Glossier has added this creamy dual-ended pencil to its best-selling Boy Brow range. It has a spoolie brush at one end so you can brush and shape your brows and the pencil at the other end. The nib has a unique square shape to it which means you can use the corners for precise detail and the flat sides for packing colour on. It comes in 9 shades and is retractable so no sharpener is required."

Florence Scordoulis, GTG contributing editor, is keeping the summer vibes going via her nails

Skin Rocks by Caroline Hirons The Gel Cleanser, £39

"With over 750k Instagram followers, midlife skincare queen and blogger Caroline Hirons knows her stuff - and her new multi-tasking gel cleanser is no exception. You might remember her for leading the return of the cream cleanser, but now I’m swapping teams. This luxurious, thick gel transforms into an oil when massaged onto dry skin; or a milky consistency when it hits water. It’s packed with six ultra-hydrating oils: from nourishing jojoba to avocado for protective antioxidants and sunflower seed, rich in softening fatty acids. So your skin doesn’t feel dry or stripped afterwards. I found it easy to dislodge even heavier foundation and mascara, especially when used with their fluffy cotton The Flannel, £8. It also comes with or without the signature, lightly floral fragrance. (But, if you prefer a foamy cleanse, steer clear!)"

Orly New Horizons Nail Polish, £12.99

"This summery limited edition Cloudscape Collection of nail polish by LA brand Orly will really make you feel like you’re still lounging by the pool. It comes in a rainbow of six vibrant colours: from a glitzy lemon yellow to pale pea green, a zingy coral pink and - my favourite - this surprisingly wearable, creamy mango sorbet shade of orange. The polish itself is cruelty-free, vegan and free from harmful ingredients - with a smooth consistency that is easy to apply. And, with two coats, whatever is left of your holiday tan is guaranteed to pop."

"Ever had that moment of horror when a group of friends suggest splitting the bill - and you’ve just had tap water? If so, this is for you. Bola Sol is a financial advisor who shares her tough love money tips via Insta (where she has over 33k followers), as well as being Grazia’s money columnist. Her book's aim is to break taboos, and financially empower women - who still typically earn less - with the practical know-how to build our wealth and confidence. Magnitone Steamahead2 Hydrating Facial Nano Steamer, £39.99

"If you’re a fan of an at-home Sunday spa ritual, then this new facial steamer is a fun addition. It’s easy to use, steadied on a surface or in your lap. The jet of nano steam particles helps to boost hydration and circulation while opening up your pores. This makes blackhead extraction easier and helps your skincare ingredients penetrate far more deeply, too. My skin felt noticeably softer and looked dewier after a 20-minute burst. I’d also recommend combining it with a moisturising sheet mask (or an episode of Emily in Paris) Plus, you can add in aromatherapy oils for extra de-stressing - and, if you, er, run out of steam, don’t worry: it doubles as a room diffuser, too."

Isla Huffadine, GTG content coordinator, has discovered DIY dermaplaning

Bali Body Birthday Cake Body Whip, £28.95

"To celebrate their 10th birthday, Bali Body has released this limited edition, vanilla-scented birthday cake body whip. It’s a twist on their classic version, dressed in pink sparkly packaging for the occasion with the same promise of extending your fake tan. Just what I need to keep my summer glow going into September. It contains skin-strengthening niacinamide and hydrating hyaluronic acid and it sinks into skin without any greasy residue. Run don’t walk to get it as it won’t be around for long."

Bondi Body Dermaplane LED Light and Sonic Skin Exfoliator, £34.90

"I was always hesitant about removing peach fuzz, worried it might grow back as facial stubble. After discovering this wasn’t the case, I started using this. Not only does it effectively remove all hair, but it also exfoliates dead skin cells. The device offers three intensity levels (I started on the lowest setting until I felt comfortable to move up to the next), and comes with the six razor heads for added value and hygiene. A built-in light makes the process more precise and you’re left with smooth skin, which helps skincare absorb more efficiently and makeup to sit evenly."

Fhirst Living Soda in Lemon Lime, £20.52 for 12

"As someone who reaches for a Diet Coke to beat the 3pm slump, I was curious about these new sugar-free drinks claiming to support brain and gut health. Marketed as the first soda to offer both probiotics and prebiotics, I wondered if they could also deliver on taste. I tried the lemon-lime flavour, which was pleasantly zingy and refreshing - with natural juices making it more palatable than other so-called ‘health’ drinks. With 2 billion stable probiotic cultures (the good kind for your stomach) and 5 grams of prebiotic fibre per can, it's nourishing for the gut - where key vitamins are absorbed. Overall, it tastes great and a better choice to quench my 3pm thirst."

Jurlique Aloe Vera Hydrating Mist, £36

"I have only recently got on board the facial mist hype and am wondering why I didn’t do it sooner. This is the latest I’ve added to my collection. Containing 99 per cent natural aloe vera it’s perfect if you’re prone to redness and want something light and refreshing to soothe your skin, but I’ve been using it on hot days to cool myself down and after workouts to restore my skin to some semblance of a normal colour rather than beetroot. You can keep it in the fridge for an added cooling sensation too."

Victoria Ireland, creative director, has solved her lip dilemma

Rare Beauty True To Myself Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder, £30

"While I can’t say that I am a core member of Selena Gomez fanbase I am continually impressed with her makeup range. Everything I have tried from Rare has been excellent and this new pressed powder is no exception. It feels light on the skin and gives that slightly blurred, almost filtered-like effect which I love. There are 15 shades to choose from and you can layer it up for a bit more coverage, but I use it for a final powdering flourish to take away any shine and unify my skin anywhere it’s needed."

Monika Blunder Beauty Sweet Talk Lip Oil in Brombeere, £34

"I’ve been in a lip dilemma. I like the colour oomph of a lipstick but haven’t got time for the upkeep. I find lip glosses too sticky and tinted lip balms a bit ‘meh’. So I was curious to give this lip oil a try to see if it hit the sweet spot. The oils make it feel really silky and buttery to apply and gives shine. The tint is definitely more obvious than a balm but sheer and forgiving enough that I could apply it on the move or without a mirror to hand. Result! There are six shades ranging from soft pink and brown to brighter red and orange but I was drawn to this gorgeous purple berry tone."

Epetome Synbiotic Duo Cap, £54.99 for one month

"Like many, I suffer from bloating and it’s something I’ve just put up with. Until the team told me to try these supplements, that is. I was sceptical at first but can honestly say that after taking them for 2.5 weeks I’ve seen (and felt) a real difference. You have one capsule a day - they’re really easy to take - and the pill itself is a capsule within a capsule. This might be a weird thing to say about a supplement, but they look beautiful! The unique design is to ensure that all 11 live cultures, and other gut-soothing ingredients like vitamin D, zinc and biotin, make it to the stomach intact so they can get to work. It’s on the pricey side but you make savings when you buy more and I rationalise it that it’s cheaper than a daily posh coffee and much better for me."

Gatineau Golden Glow Gradual Tan Cream, £17

"My Instagram feed has been waxing lyrical about this gradual tan so I succumbed to the influence and thankfully haven’t been disappointed. The consistency is just like a light body lotion, not sticky in the slightest and it sinks in instantly so you can apply and get dressed as normal. Unlike all the other gradual tans I’ve tried, this has a lovely scent - you wouldn’t know it had tanning agents in it apart from the fact that a few hours after applying your skin looks gorgeously golden. The colour is really natural and most importantly for me, it fades really well too so no scrubbing of old tan required."
