Founded on Valentine’s Day 2008 (after CEO and co-founder Lopo Champalimaud found himself unable to book a last-minute massage in London) Wahanda set out to revolutionise the world of hair and beauty bookings, moving the £15 billion industry online.

Now the biggest hair and beauty booking platform in Europe, and its mobile app help people search, compare and book appointments quickly, easily and discreetly.

Working with more than 8,000 of the best venues across the UK and Germany (from independent nail bars and salons to big name hairdressers and 5-star hotel spas), Wahanda attracts 20 million unique visitors a year, connects a customer to a salon or spa every 15 seconds, and lists more than 100,000 user reviews.

Wahanda also allows salons and spas, the majority of whom still use pen and paper, to manage appointments through a sophisticated online booking system, and to market their businesses to millions of people.

With a new visitor to the site every two seconds, around 500 new salons signing up every month and the recent acquisition of its German equivalent, Salonmeister, Wahanda is growing at a rapid pace. With plans to continue expansion into mainland Europe, 2015 looks set to be its most exciting year yet.
