I start my day with this facial cleanser, which I first used when asked to test it for a review and have continued to do so ever since. It’s non-foaming, which means it won’t dry your skin and it’s infused with active moisturisers so my skin feels smooth and more hydrated after cleansing.
After cleansing and toning, I always use a serum. Serums are packed full of rejuvenating active ingredients that penetrate even more deeply than moisturisers can where they work effectively within the deeper skin layers. I use this richly infused serum as it contains advanced skincare antioxidants.
Vitamin C, also known as Ascorbic acid, plays a significant role in the collagen synthesis process. This helps to thicken skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As a potent antioxidant, it fights free radicals and reduces oxidative stress. It also helps lighten the skin by acting as a de-pigmenting agent.
Vitamin E, like vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. It helps protect the skin from scarring and age spots and helps increase the skin’s hydration levels. Vitamin C and E can regenerate each other, optimising each other’s antioxidant effects. Studies have found the skin protection benefits to be much more effective when using a combination of both vitamins E and C, rather than by using each vitamin alone.
After my serum I use a day cream and have recently discovered this from Superdrug. DD or Daily Defense is the ultimate multifunctional beauty product, combining the benefits of a lightweight foundation, nourishing vitamins and antioxidants, a gentle exfoliant and an SPF 20 moisturiser all-in-one, creating a healthy-looking complexion in an instant.
My skin feels smoother, hydrated and refreshed when applied. It gives my skin a beautiful sheer illumination, helping to conceal any imperfections and uneven skin tone. I’ve stopped using my regular foundation when using it. The active stem cell, peptides and antioxidant ingredients mean that with prolonged use this product is great for keeping the skin healthy and strong as well as helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and uneven pigmentation. A wonderful product and perfect for busy women like me.
Available from Superdrug later on this month.
Infused with skin brightening and protecting antioxidants, this night serum leaves my skin feeling firmer, brighter and rejuvenated. After a busy day at work my skin often looks dull and tired. The nighttime is a time for our bodies and our skin to rest and recover. I use this after cleansing.
As well as using a rich hydrating night cream on my face, which I apply over the top of my serum of choice, I also focus on rejuvenating the delicate skin around my eyes, Working long hours, travelling frequently and having late nights often leave me with tired, puffy eyes.
Anti-inflammatory benefits offered by Resveratrol assist in combatting cellular ageing throughout the skin. Other ingredients include hibiscus seeds to plump and firm the skin, caffeine to eliminate dark circles and puffiness, and grape-seed oil, hyaluronic acid, and avocado butter to hydrate.
