Initially studying for a degree in Sports Management, Joel quickly realised he was more interested in the sport part than the management and soon after graduating got his first personal training gig. Working his way up through the personal trainer ranks, Joel found his niche working in corporate fitness. Having trained a who’s who of city workers, a few professional footballers and a couple of celebrities along the way, Joel has a proven track record of achieving body-changing results.
Training time-starved city workers sparked an idea and in March 2014 Joel teamed up with Ben – a law firm client with a shared fitness obsession– and the pair opened their first fitness studio. Located in Bank, Project Fit provides results driven classes that aim for maximum impact in minimum time. Tapping into the current trend for High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT to those in the know) the classes alternate treadmill intervals and sprints with isolated floor-based resistance exercises.
What makes Project Fit different to other HIIT workouts? The classes are small, you’re always challenged but not intimidated and the workouts are actually accessible for all - as the tagline confirms: it’s you vs. your body. The individual attention received at one of Joel or Ben’s Project Fit class is like having your own personal trainer without the inevitable PT price tag. With plans to develop training programs for long distance running and diversify their class offering, Team Gloss are definitely going to be spending much more time in the city.
