With a media initiation that makes The Devil Wears Prada look tame, Kate Shapland began her journalistic voyage at Harper’s Bazaar (then Harper’s & Queen) as secretary to Hamish Bowles et al. After demanding she change her name to Chloe, ‘restyling’ her to be en trend and firing her near on half a dozen times, Kate eventually found her niche in the world of beauty – and aren’t we grateful.
These days Kate can be found on a plethora of platforms: her weekly column for the Telegraph; kateshapland.com and myshowcase.com - where you can not only find more of Kate's make-up musings but pick up great products too. And if that wasn’t enough to make us all feel like giant underachievers, she also has a new product in the pipeline. As famed Legologist, Kate has used her unrivalled knowledge of legs – combined with years in the beauty industry – to create a new brand launching later this year and we can’t wait.
A self-confessed Londonophile, when she’s not behind her desk she can be found knitting, patch-working and embroidering her way around the capital. She’s a true beauty guru but don’t just take our word for it, she’s won best UK beauty journalist three times and best national newspaper beauty journalist twice. Plus we have her to thank for the renaissance of Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream – what would we do without her?
