Michael Mosley trained to be a doctor at the Royal Free Hospital in London, before joining the BBC, where he has been a science journalist, executive producer and, more recently, a well-known television presenter.
Michael presented Horizon’s Eat, Fast and Live Longer in 2012, kick-starting the intermittent fasting phenomenon of the 5:2 diet in the UK. He went on to co-author 5:2 bestseller The Fast Diet with award-winning journalist Mimi Spencer.
Michael has written Fast Exercise with health journalist Peta Bee (and incidentally, Get The Gloss columnist); presenting cutting edge research on HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and exploring how just a few minutes spent exercising each week could help you to feel great and improve your health. He's also reversed his own type 2 diabetes with his 8-week Blood Sugar Diet, and continued to share the benefits of eating 800 calories a day in his book The Fast 800.
He has won numerous television awards, including a Royal Television Award and being named Medical Journalist of the Year by the British Medical Association. His wife Clare is a doctor, and they live with their four children in Buckinghamshire.
