Journalist and author Mimi Spencer is supremely fashionable and as clued up as they come on the subject of fad diets, losing weight and extreme regimes. The former fashion writer began focusing on food and weight management after having children and has tried almost every diet going in the name of journalism and curiosity. It was only after watching BBC’s Horizon documentary on intermittent fasting, however, that Mimi’s investigations really came to fruition - the 5:2 worked like no other diet she’d come across. She got in touch with presenter Dr Michael Mosley and pitched to co-author a book with him. The rest is history - and the two resulting books; The Fast Diet and The Fast Diet Recipe Book are global bestsellers.
