The ‘author’ (read: founder, brains and brawn) of the exclusive, members club style group of London-based Library gyms, Zana, approaches fitness, business and life in general with wit and wisdom. Highly qualified in nutrition, personal training and yoga, Zana has been a wellbeing powerhouse from the get-go, having grown up in a health-conscious Irish household and cut her teeth working in a forward-thinking Galway health store. It wasn’t long before she left the Emerald Isle to expand her training and horizons in the U.S, and thankfully for us she brought her cutting-edge coaching skills and science-based nutritional know-how to our shores some time later, establishing her first gym on London’s Harley Street.

In May 2013 Zana launched The Library, a private members training club housed in a tranquil former Notting Hill synagogue. Her two smaller studios were rebranded as ‘Little Libraries’, and her highly intelligent genre of health and fitness has attracted many a devotee, in part thanks to Zana’s advanced training methods. Ahead of the current high intensity training (HIT) brigade, Zana has been practising and devising short and sweet (yet extremely testing) workouts for nine years, and she brings the same results-driven, time-efficient drills to the Zen like Library spaces. In just 15-minutes per day, Zana or one of her expertly trained ‘scholars’ (trainers) will whip you into shape, pushing your activity levels and endurance into a higher gear to help you lose fat and build muscle at a faster rate.

It’s not just clever conditioning that will boost your physique and vitality - Zana’s nutritional plans and own range of Strong nutrients will bring you closer to the body beautiful, while the serene yoga classes and peaceful surroundings will restore inner calm. If that doesn’t fulfil you, there’s also a regular schedule of talks and workshops, not to mention a leafy private garden to escape to. It’s possibly the most expensive library membership in town, but if you’re short on time and are looking to invest in your health and happiness levels, it could very well be your new sanctuary.
