Hoorah! You can finally shop Glossier under the same roof as all your other Sephora beauty regulars and we have whittled down our top five products we deem utter essentials
We love Glossier as much as the next beauty obsessive, but we’ve always had a slight issue. It’s never been that easy to get your (literal) hands on to try out and test products. But accessibility to the cool makeup, skincare and fragrance brand has now got a tad easier as from 15 September Glossier is launching exclusively in Sephora UK at Westfield Shepherds Bush and on Sephora UK's website. This in addition to the UK Glossier store that can be found in London’s Covent Garden as well as the brands own website. Which will make finding your perfect shade of the new Glossier Stretch Fluid Foundation, which we were one of the first to try out, even easier.
The brand has said that launching Glossier into Sephora is part of the brand’s desire “to bring more Glossier to more people” and for anyone with their pulse on global beauty news, they won’t be floored by this announcement as Glossier already launched into 650 Sephora stores in the US and Canada earlier this year. But why is it such a big deal? Well, as we already said Glossier has always been quite hard to go and try for yourself. The website is great if you already know what you want and are re-purchasing an already known favourite but it's hard to get the look and feel of a new product through a screen.
Partnering with Sephora also means that if you're part of the Sephora loyalty scheme, you can earn points and rewards on your Glossier purchases - and who doesn't want that?
We’re hoping that Glossier will soon find it’s way into the second Sephora UK store in London’s Westfield Stratford City so that customers can see all the Glossier goodies in their glory. But ultimately we need more Sephora stores around the country so that everyone has more easy access to Glossier (and all the other brands stocked there too). Sephora, are you listening?
But in honour of its arrival into Sephora, we felt it was the optimum time to put together our edit of some of our favourite Glossier products so that when you do head into Sephora you know what to buy immediately.
5 of the best Glossier products worth your money
1. Glossier You EDP, £57 for 50ml
Arguably the original ‘smells like skin’ fragrance (which other fragrance brands have now imitated in their droves), this is one of those ‘smells like you but better’ types of scents. It’s not overpowering but it’s something. GTG’s Beauty Director SJ has been wearing it since its launch in 2017 and gets stopped in the street to be asked what it is. The juice is a combination of punchy pink pepper, ambery ambrox and creamy iris. It’s sexy but not in a OTT way. It’s just as compatible being worn with your favourite leisure wear as it is for a glamorous night out. And in true Glossier style - where every detail is considered - it comes with a handy and ergonomic dent in the bottle where you naturally place your thumb making it easy to spray all over.
The newest arrival to the Glossier makeup collection. This medium coverage foundation had mixed reviews when tried by the team but GTG’s Design and Social Media Manager, Jemma loved it on her oily combination skin and has been wearing it ever since. The shade range is impressive with 32 to choose from. They are divided into seven categories each with at least three different undertones. All of which can seem quite overwhelming if you are buying it online but is made so much easier now you can have options of where to go and swatch it in store.
3. Glossier Boy Brow, £18
Glossier were one of the first brands to launch a brow gel to help tame and shape. Beyonce is said to be a fan of this iconic product and it was the product beauty editors would bulk-buy in the US before Glossier was available in the UK. It comes in seven shades and has a relatively tiny brush that makes brushing it through brow hairs really easy. The formula is inspired by old-fashioned moustache pomades and it keeps hairs in place without feeling sticky or tacky.
4. Glossier Deodorant, £22 (Refill Sticks are £18)
GTG’s Beauty and Social Media Assistant, Amy swears by this natural deodorant and has just finished her third refill. Formulated without aluminium but containing ingredients that hydrate the skin as well as keeping it from smelling bad, there are three scented options to choose from - Sandstone, You and Orange Blossom Neroli - as well as unscented version if you want to keep things basic.
5. Glossier Stretch Face Brush, £28
GTG’s SJ thinks this new foundation brush is a stroke of genius. Regardless whether you wear the Glossier foundation or not, if you’re looking for a brush that makes getting your foundation on easy and fuss-free, this is it. Plus the genius design means that the bristles are hygienically encased in the outer packaging that swivels round. A must-have for travel or if you do your makeup on your morning commute.
