Estée Lauder Travel Retailing EMEA are looking to appoint an Assistant Manager to lead the PR and Communications team on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

This role requires significant involvement with Global Stakeholders, based In Singapore and the US and is responsible for providing Communications and PR support for all of the brands within Travel Retail across the EMEA region.

Based in London and reporting into the Global Communications Director a key focus for this role is working with influencers and bloggers as well as utilising multiple social media platforms to ensure maximum exposure for the brands across the identified channels. The role also encompasses the following:

  • Implementation of the global PR strategy for new product launches and events in line with the respective brand aims and objectives and monitor results.

  • Budget maintenance.

  • Ensuring press coverage is evaluated by the Communications Coordinator and relevant departments are advised in line with brand specific requirements.

  • Regular liaison with Marketing departments in respect of changes in launch activity and feedback on sales resulting from PR and social media coverage.

  • Ensure brand protocol is followed for door openings while keeping all external and internal stakeholders aligned in strategy and press outreach.

  • Attend brand Global Communications Manager Meetings where possible, utilise information to further the TR strategy and ensure strategies are conveyed to the Communications team.

  • Regular liaison with key retailer and airport press offices on airport events, press outreach and online and social media opportunities, providing assets where necessary.

  • Draft and distribute key Internal and External corporate announcements including senior TR executive appointments.

  • Work with Communications team to develop a strategy and execute successful TR activations raising awareness and funds for the annual Estée Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

  • Assist with TR retailer initiatives including press visits and press events and consumer events.

  • Prepare all aspects for the Spring and Fall Sales Meeting with support from the Communications Trainees including week to view’s, who’s who, itinerary, travel schedules, IT/AV requirements, brand room requirements, transport bookings etc.

  • Source suitable venues/activities for Year End and/or Corporate Social Responsibility and undertake all elements of organisation.

  • Present alongside the Communications Director at sales conferences and at press events.

  • Regular coaching of Communications Coordinator and Trainees to identify and cultivate talent, developing essential capabilities to maximize individual contribution and ignite passion.

  • Be present at global launch events with key TR press where relevant, ensuring extended coverage as a result of opportunities.

  • Drive strategy and coverage in line with strategic focuses by brand and across all regions – including communicating product news, working on interviews and developing initiatives to maintain interest in respective categories.

Candidates must have extensive experience of working with influencers and bloggers

  • Significant experience of Digital is essential

  • Previous experience of working in a complex Global PR function

  • Relevant Marketing / PR qualifications and experience

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication

  • Used to managing a variety of stakeholders across multiple locations

  • Strong understanding of the beauty industry ideally with a network of contacts

  • Experience of liaising with the press and a strong external network of contacts preferably within Beauty

  • Able to prioritise and work to strict deadlines when managing events and co-ordinating activities

  • Confident presentation skills

  • Demonstrable passion and enthusiasm for the industry
