Innovative, luxury niche fragrance start up seeks an experienced beauty, fashion and/or luxury executive looking for their next adventure. Be a key part of the product development team and lead all aspects of financial, operations and sales/marketing.

Vice-President, EMEA: Serve as VP EMEA, working closely with Founder and CEO to commercialize, execute, bring brand to market, and manage brand’s presence and growth in EMEA post launch.


Pre-Product Launch

  • Lead and manage product launch plan (operations, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, sales & marketing, finance, infrastructure discussions and action points), to ensure that all aspects of the business are on track for April 2017 product launch (intended date)
  • Create, lead, and manage inventory management strategy and systems
  • Manage relationship with design agency (handing over to Company CEO post launch)
  • Work in conjunction with Company CEO & PR agency to manage execution of PR strategy
  • Work with Company CEO and design agency to develop e-commerce website & other design deliverables (packaging, point of sale, sampling, sales presentations, etc)
  • Ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow statements
  • Ownership of manufacturing and distribution process, working with Paris based consultant and fulfillment house
  • Identify & appoint potential partners and/or evaluate options of creating in-house global fulfillment team


  • Oversee all manufacturing, production, inventory management, logistics, and infrastructure for global distribution and fulfillment
  • Develop systems and procedures that will form the basis for the EMEA operations of the company, and onboarding new EMEA staff as needed
  • Manage global fulfillment process
  • Manage and negotiate as needed, existing supplier contracts across all areas above. Identifying, negotiating contracts with new suppliers as needed.

Sales & Marketing

  • Develop EMEA sales & marketing strategy, in line with global positioning & strategy
  • Identify and secure all potential EMEA channel partners and contracts (including retail, distributors, B2B etc)
  • Develop sales & marketing presentations
  • Develop and manage sales deliverables (samples, testers, point of sale materials)
  • Manage channel communications & relationships (retailers, distributors)
  • Manage customer service programme for EMEA
  • Develop training materials and train retail sales staff, and other sales staff as needed
  • Identify and secure potential strategic brand partnerships
  • Ownership and application of deep, current knowledge of sector, target consumer, & EMEA market & geographic trends as relevant to luxury niche fragrance sector
  • Work in conjunction with Company CEO & PR agency to manage execution of PR strategy
  • Create and lead implementation of EMEA digital strategy, in line with global digital strategy and rollout
  • Identify, negotiate contracts with digital marketing firm(s), manage relationships


  • Oversee all budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ownership of EMEA P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow statements
  • Generate monthly reports
  • Detailed sales reports (actual vs forecast)
  • Revenue (actual vs forecast)
  • Costs (actual vs forecast)
  • Channel accounts targeted vs secured (and conversion rate)
  • Success metrics/conversion rate attributed to specific programmes (sampling, brand partnerships etc)
  • Generate annual reports
  • EMEA business overview
  • Profitability analysis by channel, account, country
  • Sector/consumer/geographic trends and how it’s been applied to SJ
  • Risks/challenges/opportunities/mitigation strategies
  • P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow end of financial year reporting and forecasts


  • Passion for ethical Beauty / Fashion / Luxury industry
  • Ability to work independently in a fast moving start-up environment
  • Ability to think strategically and holistically, while maintaining visibility of granular details
  • Ability to commercialize a brand and bring to market, generate and manage revenue
  • Affinity with and interested in data analysis
  • Creative mindset and ability to execute with excellence
  • Identifying and communicating new commercial opportunities
  • Collecting, compiling and analysing sales figures and trends
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and people management skills
  • Previous sector relevant, regional ownership experience, excellent cross functional skills across sales & marketing, operations (supply chain management, inventory management, workflow, distribution), and finance
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to reach specific timelines and deliverables.
  • Sound understanding of commercial process
