Soupologie are the UK’s favourite superfood, vegan and free-from soup collection.
We believe that consuming healthy, plant-based soup helps you feel and look good inside and out, and we have worked hard to create the very best blend of seasonal ingredients which harness goodness without compromising on taste.
We’ve recently also delved into the juice world, where our refreshingly tasty, low-sugar drinking vinegars (with added vegan probiotics) have shaken up the category.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Soupologie is a small team, so finding the right fit is extremely important to us. We’re a fun, varied bunch (if we do say so ourselves!), but the one thing we have in common is that we’re passionate about supplying food that is nutritious, delicious and affordable. We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised, friendly and savvy candidate with a flair for writing to join our small family.
This position reports to the Marketing Manager and the main tasks will revolve around PR, events and marketing, although we’d like the candidate to be willing to work within other areas of the company when required. This can involve occasional support with logistics, operations and various admin. Our website also needs a little TLC, and we’d like someone who would eventually be happy to take a bit of ownership with the e-commerce platform we run. For this side, organisational and customer service skills are a must.
Ideally the candidate is interested in food, and wants to join a start up that is experiencing high demand and growth. We are an extremely ambitious bunch and while we have enjoyed considerable growth in the past few years, we are hungry for more and are keen to continue growing.
Representing the company at tastings and events is part of the role. Candidates will need to show that they are confident and happy to interact with consumers and log feedback.
We welcome all disciplines: events, marketing, media or writing all have their strengths for this position. Above all, we are looking for people who are:
- Enthusiastic, flexible and creative; excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise are a must
Passionate about health and nutrition, and who ‘get’ our product
Have good verbal and written communication skills (polite phone manner, etc.)
Not shy – happy to frequently represent us at tastings and events
Reliable, hardworking, attentive
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Office, PowerPoint, Excel)
Additional skills which are welcome but not necessary: French, SEO, Analytics tools (such as Google Analytics). We welcome dog lovers, as the three Soupologie dogs do like to pop in now and then.
Working hours are 9:30 – 5:30, although events sometimes take place on evenings or weekends and candidates must be happy occasionally working these shifts. Time is given back through late starts or days off.
You will report to the Marketing Manager, although you will also work with both of the company founders and the Operations Assistant.
Every day at Soupologie HQ is different, and while this role is marketing-focused, it does involve mixing it up within different functions. If organisational skills prove to be sufficient, we’d love to find someone who could manage our website orders – this would involve receiving the orders and communicating with customers, sourcing stock and materials, preparing bundles, sending stock out, and dealing with any logistical issues in-between.
Marketing: miscellaneous marketing activities such as (but not limited to): blogging, proposing social media content, tracking competitors, thinking of slogans and campaigns, researching and arranging collaborations, sending our stock
PR: supporting the marketing manager with pitches to journalists, actively researching bloggers and personalities to collaborate with, preparing promotional materials, working with our graphic designers, sending out stock to journalists
Events: actively and responsibly representing the brand at promotional events such as soup samplings; suggesting and coordinating potential events where we could be present, such as food fairs, sports events or festivals; attending training, workshops or other industry-relevant events. Eventually, we'd love for the candidate to organise the logistics of their own events
Operations: occasionally sourcing materials (ingredients, materials, packaging, etc), tracking incoming and outgoing courier orders, exploring and communicating with new suppliers
Website orders: monitoring orders, communicating with customers and couriers on deliveries, ordering stock, preparing orders, processing refunds, proposing new bundle ideas and proposing how to put them together
This role will expose you to a 360° view of how a small company operates in response to high demand and attention. You will have a chance to help build the brand through marketing and events, and will hopefully stay on to become part of the family.
Due to the size of our company, our days (and office!) can be quite chaotic, so we are looking for someone who enjoys the challenges of juggling in a fast-paced environment, and does not need to be micro-managed. We are a lovely, creative, friendly bunch but we do work very hard to meet demand with high standards.
Our HQ is on Fortune Green Road, about a fifteen minute walk from West Hampstead station. There are bus stops close to the office as well.
If you are interested in being part of our exciting journey, please send your CV and a short cover letter or email stating your interest, and why you feel you would be a good fit. We aim to get someone in ASAP.
We look forward to hearing from you.
