New nail polish detects date rape drug in drinks

The Undercover Colours range was created by four forward-thinking college students determined to put an end to date rape

Forget drinking, frolics and frat parties, at North Carolina State University four forward-thinking male students have been spending their time on an entirely different pursuit - a nail polish that changes shades when it comes into contact with date rape drugs. The polish, cleverly entitled Undercover Colours, allows women to test their drink by stirring it with their finger in the hope this will keep them safe as well as deterring would-be rapists. The company describe themselves as the "first fashion company working to prevent sexual assult".
