Review: Valmont Facial by Debbie Thomas

The pain of this thorough Valmont treatment pays off for Ayesha Muttucumaru as some stubborn troublespots clear up

Swiss skincare brand Valmont and super-facialist Debbie Thomas have joined forces to offer bespoke facials at London beauty hub, Hari's. A power-team if ever there was one, this facial didn't disappoint. More suitable for mature skin types, this anti-ageing and radiance treatment targets blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin tone, ensuring you leave hydrated, refreshed and rejuvenated.

A facialist who loves a challenge, problem skin is Debbie’s specialty and she takes pride in getting into every crevice to rectify imperfections. The Valmont Renewing Pack, from £125 (020 7581 5211), was used first to cleanse and prep my skin, after which my face was scrubbed to eradicate every dead skin cell. A few unpleasant extractions followed to clear blocked pores, but soon this was forgotten thanks to a soothing combo of red light therapy and a facial massage. A fair trade-off I felt, especially since in the days following the facial, spots that had set up well-established camps on my face finally moved on. Following the facial my skin has been much clearer and my complexion more even.

If you’re looking for R&R this facial is probably not for you, but if you’re seeking results it is. I’d take the second over the first any day of the week.

A Valmont facial with Debbie Thomas at Hari's can be booked by calling 020 7581 5211 or emailing [email protected] Choose from one of the four facials: hydration, energy, radiance or anti-wrinkles and firmness, from £125.
