Discreetly nestled on Fulham Road, Lomax Bespoke Fitness, Nutrition & Wellbeing takes a holistic approach to healthy living that is evident as soon as you step through the front door and walk in to what appears to be a rather fabulous health-conscious café.

My natural nosiness (and ample appetite) immediately drew me to the friendly counter staff who were eagerly displaying their selection of freshly-made food, created by the in-house nutritionist. On hearing that I would be having the REN Body Contour Detox Wrap (£110) they suggested a freshly made skin-boosting smoothie (avocado, lemon and ginger) post-treatment. Happy with my prescription, I took myself upstairs to the gym and spa.

The Lomax Gym has special fitness pods, essentially your own private cubicle fitted with a drop-down wall that can be lowered to offer you privacy as you exercise or kept open during exercise classes. A good range of workout options are offered including spinning, Pilates and martial arts. There are purpose-built studios for a range of classes, including the Lomax signature Blast Class (frequented by the likes of Caggie Dunlop of Made in Chelsea fame), which promises to melt fat, increase fitness endurance and sculpt lean muscle. Personal training is also offered as well as advice on weight loss, sports nutrition and seasonal cleanses.

I was very impressed by the array of services... but still made straight for one of their five sumptuous spa treatment rooms. After 90 minutes of body scrub, detox wrap, cocooning in an infrared blanket, followed by an incredible face and scalp massage, I was promised an overall slimmer body contour. They weren’t kidding. Although I felt rather dehydrated post-treatment (remember to drink plenty of water beforehand), much to my surprise, not only did I leave with super-smooth, glowing skin and in a state of bliss but was also a slighter version of my former self.

As I left clutching my delicious smoothie, I contemplated the long menu of spa services I was yet to sample ranging from facials (starting at £45) to physiotherapy and life coaching. It would just seem rude not to make this our new healthy haunt of choice. Chin-chin.
