Whenever I have a haircut, it’s always great when I can say that I’ve taken home more than just a new style. Sure it looks great now, but what do I do once I’ve left the security of my hairdresser’s chair and what can I do to avoid ending up a sweaty, swearing puddle on the floor despite my best efforts to perfect a pro blow-dry at home? That’s where my hair stylist at Lockonego, Sophie Grant came in.
My hair was looking for a lack of a better word, “frenzied” upon my entrance through Lockonego’s doors, something that I’ve gotten used to come week nine since my last haircut. Sophie was great at listening to my hair concerns, my haircare regime (or lack thereof as of late) and individual needs and made thoughtful, well-informed suggestions of what might look good. Each cut to my hair was careful, considered and well thought out and she provided handy tips throughout for achieving full, voluminous hair at home minus the heat, which my frazzled ends must have delighted in hearing.
The team were polite, chatty and cheerful and the atmosphere was refreshingly unpretentious for a salon located in the heart of Chelsea. The waiting times were a little longer than I would have wished for, but I would definitely return. With an expert team possessing a wealth of experience between them combined with an extremely down-to-earth and friendly attitude, this salon is worth a visit for a masterclass in haircuts, haircare and - even better - aftercare too.
