An exciting new, chic and trendy hair and beauty salon has recently opened on the Fulham Road opposite the cinema. This is great news for all us Chelsea girls!

I’ve followed the Creative Director Sharon Joyce from two other salons where she has worked in the past because she is such an excellent cutter; she turns my scraggy, rather thin hair into something really bouncy and swingy, and she never makes me feel that it is difficult to do. Every time I see her I leave feeling wonderful, so I am delighted that she has opened her own salon after 20 years of working in the industry.

The whole atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly, yet still professional. Lovely big comfortable chairs (hence the name) welcome you and the decor is very chic and cool, attractive and elegant. I want to keep saying ‘relaxed’ because that is how everyone feels here - it really has a laid back vibe.

There is a family atmosphere too, with Sharon’s sister and her daughter both working alongside her. They are part of a team who have been involved in a whole host of interesting work including the England and New Zealand All Blacks rugby teams - the mind boggles at the thought! They’ve even worked their magic on the Chippendales and the Lion King actors, and films such as Street Dance and Fast Girls, plus plenty of editorial; Max Factor shoots, Vogue and InStyle magazines, fashion and TV shows including Made in Chelsea.

Nothing is too much trouble for the team here. They are happy to offer ‘The Breakfast Blowdry‘ for clients who have important early meetings. They also offer a variety of services for people who have VIP appointments after hours. They are huge believers in Aveda hair and skincare products who describe themselves as ‘connecting beauty, environment and wellbeing’, using pure plant and flower essences with pure essential oils.

I took my own guinea pig male along with me and he thoroughly enjoyed all the pampering; he loved the complimentary head and hand massage plus delicious coffee (on this occasion we turned down the salon’s own cocktail, The Chelsea Chair Royal) and left with a big smile and a very smart haircut. I have a feeling he will want to come with me again on my next visit...
