Stunning actress Cate Blanchett is the perfect pick as the face of Giorgio Armani's newest fragrance, writes Ayesha Muttucumaru

Rumoured to have wanted to spend her very first paycheck on a Giorgio Armani suit, Cate Blanchett’s love of the iconic Italian fashion brand has been a lifelong affair. So her becoming the face of its newest fragrance, (from £44) seems like the perfect perfume pairing.

Elegant, strong, feminine and every inch the Sí poster girl, the campaign shot by filmmaker Anne Fontaine sees the actress showcase a variety of different looks from crisp white shirts to free-flowing gowns, daring red to barely there lips all matched with trademark flawless porcelain skin.

Designed to mirror the structured yet soft duality of the nude and black hues of the Sí Eau de Parfum bottle, the actress exudes effortless timeless style, where classic Italian chic is given a modern day twist to provide the perfect representation of the perfume itself.

Created for women, by women, the strong, sweet yet sultry fragrance is the result of a combination of three accords: blackcurrant nectar, modern chypre and light musky wood. With notes of blond amber wood, patchouli, freesia (Giorgio’s Armani’s favourite flower) and two types of vanilla in the mix too, the result is a scent that looks like it could be a review of one of Ms Blanchett’s stella screen performances - powerful and feminine, with a sophisticated edge.

According to the legendary designer himself, “Sí is my tribute to modern femininity, an irresistible combination of grace, strength and independence of spirit”.

With this screen siren in front of the lens, his vision couldn’t have been more perfectly captured in our opinion.
