August 13th 2014 / 1 comment

Next in her food series, nutritional therapist Amelia Freer shares her refreshing green smoothie recipe...

Quench your thirst with a delicious green smoothie that’s refreshing and will keep you feeling healthy from the inside out.

In the second of her cooking series, Nutritional Therapist Amelia Freer shows us how to create a breakfast green smoothie that takes seconds but will leave feeling like you’ve knocked off a few years.

You’ll need:

- Prepare your cucumber, avocado, apple, lime (to take the edge off the flavour of the greens) and kale (the most super green, leafy vegetable that there is)

- Put all of your ingredients into your Vitamix or mixer

- Add a couple of tea spoons of spirulina – it’s a great way to give longer lasting energy and to pack in some more nutrients

- Top it up with Jax coconut water to provide the liquid and blend

Do you think you’ll be trying this recipe? Do you add anything different to your green smoothies? Let us know in the comments below!

I wouldn't mind trying this although I can't imagine it tasting very nice! How much of each ingredient is used?
