I’m a beauty editor and these are the Christmas beauty gift sets 2024 on my wish list

3 December 2024

From curated complexion kits to gorgeously edited skincare sets, we have found the best beauty gift sets from the hottest brands – many worth more than their price tags

There are many things I am looking forward to this Christmas. While eating a tub of Cadbury’s Heroes while watching Gavin & Stacey is top of my list, seeing which beauty gift set is in my stocking is up there too. Because Christmas just isn’t Christmas without one.

There’s still a bit of a stigma around buying gift sets. I say ‘bah humbug’ to that attitude because I think a gift set is a thoughtful present. If you know that Aunty Carol is a die-hard Clarins fan, then she will love one of their curated kits. If your mother-in-law has worn Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir for years, then a perfume set with a matching hand cream will make you the star of the family. And, as we all know, that’s what gift-giving is all about…

And it’s the added extras that come with beauty gift sets that not only make them great value – great for the giver – but also mean you get to try something new – great for the receiver. This can range from limited edition versions of classics or luxury sized samples of other products in the same or complementary ranges. So not only does Aunty Carol get her trusty Clarins moisturiser but she gets to try the eye cream too.

And it’s worth doing a bit of mental maths when shopping for beauty products because you will often make a saving buying a gift set compared to popping the individual products in your basket.

Here’s my pick of this year’s bunch.

Sol de Janeiro Hydration Celebration Body Routine, £77

It’s the cult brand whose products are loved by tweens, teens and grown-ups everywhere so get ready for fights over who gets to keep the contents. Inside you will find the famous Bum Bum cream, cult Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist, a shower cream, body scrub and body oil.
