Since starting out at Vidal Sassoon, Tom Smith has had over 15 years of experience in the hairdressing industry – and established himself as a leader in hair trend forecasting (including trailblazing several viral trends, such as ‘cowboy copper’ and ‘expensive brunette’).

A multi-disciplinary artist, his expertise spans cutting, colouring, extensions, and texture management, and he’s a longevity whizz too. In October 2025, Tom opened the doors to Aevum – London’s first hair health optimisation salon, in the heart of Bloomsbury, alongside his husband and fellow hair expert, Chris Donohue. Here, biohacking your hair is taken to the next level, with treatments going well beyond just your simple cut-and-colours (although you’ll still walk out after one of those feeling totally transformed). Plus, with 150K followers on Instagram and Tik Tok, he shares expert tips and insights to a wider audience, as well as offering free haircare masterclasses on his website.
