Ffern Summer 25 EDP, £89 for 32ml

Ffern is no ordinary perfume company. Each season they create a seasonal scent using organic and natural ingredients and the launch of each scent (aptly named after the season and the year) is released on a solstice or equinox, turning points in the year as the Earth orbits around the Sun. There is only a small batch of each scent created so you have to be pretty speedy to get your hands on one and now is the time to put your name down for Summer 25, which will launch on 20 June 2025. Not only that but they are the first perfume brand to completely eliminate the use of plastic, with the perfume being sent in 100 per cent recyclable packaging.

And it’s definitely worth trying to get a bottle if you can as this scent contains ingredients that would make the most perfect summer cocktail (obviously don’t drink the perfume though!). There is organic Italian vodka at the base, white peach water running through the mid notes and pink grapefrui and blood orange rind at the top. To stop it from being too sweet there is also nutmeg and cardamon which really gives it a sense of the outdoors.

Ffern has a store in London’s Soho where you can smell the next scent but if that’s not accessible to you then each bottle comes with a sample size scent so you can have a sniff before you open the bottle to decide whether you want to keep it or return. it.

Liberty Beauty Lbty "Tudor" EDP, £160 for 50ml

If you have ever visited the iconic Liberty store in London, you cannot help but fall in love with the totally unique and historical Tudor building. This wonderful scent that carries the moniker of the building’s architectural style aims to bring the building to life via the power of scent, and it does a brilliant job of doing it.

As you might expect, there is an element of ‘woodiness’ to it, in both the literal material (it contains notes of cypress) to replicate all the wood that bedecks the walls and floors of the store, but also in how fresh and green it smells, as if you’re in a woodland that’s bursting into life. There is a little bit of sultriness in the mix, thanks to notes of amber and nutmeg but it manages to be both impactful and the sort of scent you could wear daily and to wherever you’re going.

Plus, the bottle is gorgeous and utilises an archival print on the lid.

Ferragamo Fiamma EDP, £80 for 50ml

You might be expecting a big and bold scent to come spritzing from this gold bottle, but be prepared to be surprised as what’s inside is far more delicate, softer and sparkling. It’s a very fruity and summery scent – with notes of pear, nectarine and cherry – but there’s something about it which also feels quite glowy and warm, almost as though spraying it on will make your skin look more luminous (it won’t!), but it’s possibly down to the inclusion of an ingredient called ambrox, which sinks into skin really well. Regardless, this is the sort of scent that will suit anyone, anywhere throughout the summer months and beyond.

Jo Loves With Love From Como, £135 for 100ml

Inspired by time spent in stunning Lake Como, this is a scent to wear when you want to remind yourself to slow down and enjoy the moment. It has a woody base but then lifts through to fresh and green basil and zesty mandarin and grapefruit, cut through to give it lightness. Another absolute must-buy created by the queen of iconic scents, Jo Malone.

Prada Infusion De Rhubarbe, EDP, £140 for 100ml

If you are a rhubarb lover, then you will love this brand new Prada scent that celebrates it in all its glory. While the main note that hits you is the summery rhubarb, it is quickly followed by green mandarin, which really lifts the fruitiness factor, and rose, which adds a velvety softness. All housed in the always chic Prada bottle.

Jo Malone Beach Blossom Cologne, £86 for 50ml

Inspired by the white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Seychelles, this gorgeous fragrance is like spritzing tropical sunshine onto your skin, thanks to the mix of coconut water, creamy tonka bean and zesty lime. It is summer in a bottle.

Diem Love Tangle EDP, £25 for a 10ml bottle and case (10ml refills are £20)

Juicy notes of blackberry and honeysuckle make this super-affordable scent a great option for summer. (And, fyi, if you love Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay then try this as it’s not a million miles away). The London indie brand is big on sustainability, small batches of scent and not lumbering you with a big bottle you’ll never finish – we like their style.

BDK Parfums Impadia EDP, £190 for 100ml

With a bottle that resembles a sunset, this fragrance is inspired by Paris as the sun falls. The French perfume house is known for its quirky scents and this is like nothing you’ve ever smelt before – there is vanilla and praline which give it an edible edge but also mandarin, pear and ginger which make it fruity and spicy all in one. Be prepared to love it on first sniff.

Phlur Rose Whip EDP, £99 for 50ml

Warmer weather doesn’t mean you can’t wear heavier scents, and this is a great option for those balmy warmer nights. It is rose-heavy but isn’t cloying. This is in part thanks to TikTok favourite Phlur’s signature amber and musk base that gives it a skin-like feeling, but there is also blackcurrant, which gives it a freshness that many rose perfumes don’t have.

Akro Breathe EDP, £80 for 30ml

If warmer weather signals spending more time outdoors, then this is going to be the scent you’re going to want to wear while doing so. It draws on big, open landscapes and smells fresh, airy and like a bit gulp of fresh air taken on the edge of a cliff by a huge lake. There’s bergamot and lavender, but it’s the watery note that will take you to a place of beauty.

This unisex Seoul brand majors on unusual fragrances that evoke curiosity and are as individual as the wearer. This one is based on the phenomenon of having beer googles! It’s playful, fun and blends brandy, grapefruit and cinnamon to create a perfume that starts warm and spicy and then lifts into an energetic citrus zing once it has dried down.

Glossier You Fleur EDP, £70 for 50ml

Fans of the iconic original Glossier You will love this slightly more floral version. It has all the musky skin-like notes of the first but with added notes of ylang ylang and apricot, which give it a slightly stronger effect but it still remains utterly comforting and like a second skin.

DS & Durga Cowgirl Grass, £155 for 50ml

If cut-grass and green notes are your bag then you need to give this a whiff. It’s inspired by life in the American West but it also has a hint of English country garden. Life as a cowgirl is nodded to with the notes of grass and musk but lighter hints of lychee, peony and jasmine mean it’s not too earthy and conjure a lighter, floral and fruity vibe. It is delicious.

The second you spray this scent, you are hit with the warmth and energy of sunshine, the smell of suntan lotion and ultimate holiday vibes. It has tropical notes of pineapple and coconut, and a creamy comforting hint of vanilla, but miraculously manages to steer clear of smelling sickly sweet or like a pina colada.
