Actor and singer Selena Gomez is not just one of the biggest names in Hollywood, her Instagram account is now the most followed in the world, with over 380 million followers. The 30-year-old former Disney star is also the founder of the makeup brand, Rare Beauty, which is genuinely brilliant and constantly sells out at Space NK. Side note: the Rare Beauty liquid blush is one of the best we’ve ever tried - and we’ve tried all the best cream blushers out there. The packaging is gorgeous and many customers with dexterity issues report that the tubs and pots are easier to open than many other beauty brands.  Selena herself has issues with her hands due to Lupus.

But it’s Selena Gomez’s beauty TikTok videos that have really caught our eye. There aren’t many weeks when the GTG team aren't huddled around watching her latest makeup or skincare routine. Why? Mainly because they come with a side of self-deprecation and irony, which is rare with A listers, but also because we have learnt some really helpful beauty tips from her. So here are five of the best Selena Gomez beauty videos with some excellent advice.

1. Use a makeup sponge to remove eye makeup

@selenagomez

PSA I got most of these products free. I ain’t just rolling like that everywhere. Use any serum to take off make up before washing. It breaks it up nicely. Also use a sponge to wipe eyes to treat eyes delicately when removing make up. K I’m done pretending I know what I’m taking about.

This is a video you may have seen before because Ms Gomez got a bit of backlash after posting it for using the very pricey La Mer The Concentrate, £180, to remove her makeup, when it's designed as a luxe serum to soak into cleansed skin. That aside, we love how she uses a Beautyblender Original Sponge, £17, soaked in Bioderma Sensibio H20 Cleansing Micellar Water, £11,  to remover her eye makeup. Why have we never thought of doing that before?!

2. Castor oil on brows

@selenagomez @rarebeauty happy, merry Christmas from your Rare beauty family!! Love you all so much! I’m grateful for each and every one of you 💕@sephora ♬ original sound - Selena Gomez

The beauty benefits of castor oil have been heralded for decades. It’s said to help with hair growth as well as to strengthen eyebrows and lashes. No wonder Selena brushes it through her amazing brows. Looking to stock up? We rate Nature Spell Natural Castor Oil, £7.69, which can be used on hair and body.

3. Blusher on the nose

Selena declares her cream blushers as her favourite, and we agree. In this video, she uses two shades to create a gorgeous ombre cheek look super easily and super quickly. We think she’s using the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Hope, £22 ,and the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Believe, £22, which she then taps into the middle of her nose to link her cheeks to the whole look. Also, this is one of the videos for which she does a voiceover and we could listen to her dulcet tones all day!

4. How to contour eyes

@selenagomez

I tried but don’t think the full face is for me unless I need to try to fit in and go to those fancy pants events I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

You might have contouring your cheeks and face down to a fine art but in this video Selena shows how she also incorporates her contouring into her eyes. She sweeps her Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer, £25, from the outer corners of her eyes towards her temple to create an instant sculpted and lifted look.

5: Taking serum over your lips

Now granted, we don’t know if Ms Gomez means to sweep her Dior Capture totals Super Potent Face Serum, £64, over her lips on purpose, but it’s a smart move as lips need some TLC too and very rarely get it. We're now doing the same.
