Kerry Potter
GTG Deputy Editor, London
About
Get The Gloss's Deputy Editor Kerry Potter is an expert in health, longevity, fitness and sport. A highly experienced national newspaper and magazine editor, she also teaches journalism at Oxford Brookes University. She loves weight-training, tennis and running... a good job really because she also loves cake.
Kerry Potter joined the team in 2022. She specialises in health, fitness and sport, with a penchant for testing out weird and wonderful new biohacking practices. However, she is allergic to the more woo-woo end of the wellbeing spectrum – so she really doesn’t want to hear about your crystal collection, sorry.
A journalist for 25 years, she contributes to national newspapers and magazines, including The Mail On Sunday, Sunday Telegraph, Evening Standard and Red. She was previously Deputy Editor on Elle magazine and Associate Editor on ES Magazine. She’s also an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, teaching journalism.
Kerry is hugely optimistic about the power of exercise and sport to improve our lives and communities, and in 2021 co-wrote a book about this, All To Play For: How Sport Can Reboot Our Future. It was nominated for a Sunday Times Sports Book Award. She plays tennis, runs and practises yoga. Plus she’s obsessed with lifting heavy weights – and as a result, is far stronger in her forties than she was in her twenties; a topic she can bore you about at great length.
