The mega beauty retailer Sephora has taken over Feelunique's website and UK physical stores are coming next

Those of you that are a certain age may remember when French beauty retailer Sephora had a dalliance on some British high streets back in the early noughties with Sephora UK. For reasons we could never quite fathom, Sephora UK never took off or gained the popularity and reach that it does in the States. However, the beauty giant is back for another try. Sephora UK launching on 17 October and is pleased to be back: “The UK is home to a dynamic beauty and wellbeing market that Sephora aims to surprise and delight through our trademark know-how and creativity,” says Chris de Lapuente, Chairman and CEO at Sephora.

However, Sephora UK hasn't popped up on your high street or in your favourite shopping centre. Instead, it has a purely digital existence, having made a savvy investment last year by acquiring Feelunique.com. So now Feelunique is sephora.co.uk complete with Sephora’s iconic black and white stripes and branding as well as the Sephora UK app too.

What brands will Sephora UK have?

In total there are 1,400 brands stocked on the site including hero brands, that previous Feelunique shoppers won't have been able to access, such as Pat McGrath Labs, Fenty Beauty, Rose Inc and JVN. There's Sephora’s own brand, Sephora Collection which has skincare and makeup. And then there are the all-important exclusive brands. Then there are brands not previously shoppable in the UK such as the cult makeup brand, Makeup by Mario created by makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic; One/Size a makeup range created by makeup artist and mega influencer, Patrick Starrr as Tarte Cosmetics, Ilia Beauty and Skinfix

Will there ever be Sephora UK stores?

YES, there will! There are plans for a physical store in London, set to open in the spring of 2023. And then we’re hoping that more will pop up around the country after that.

Why should I shop at Sephora UK?

Well, there are quite a few customer incentives and loyalty schemes. First up a premier delivery service which costs £9.95 per year (although discounted to £6.95 for the launch) and gives you next-day delivery on every order. Sephora UK has kept the Feelunique reward programme just with a new name but still offers £5 for every £75 spent, ten per cent off two of your favourite brands and ten per cent when it’s your birthday.

While we're sad to see Feelunique go, we could not be more excited for its replacement. Welcome Sephora UK!
