In this week’s Glossy Picks, we ponder one of the key questions of the modern age: does your dog need wet wipes? According to our beauty director (who posts more photos of her pooch than her children), the answer is hell, yes! Read on for her review of Rituals’ surprising new launch.

Elsewhere, we’ve got a corker of a new Liberty London collaboration, an LED mask that has seriously impressed our expert editor and a fun foray into skincare from bargain bodycare pros Soap & Glory.

Without futher ado…

KERRY POTTER

Our deputy editor has a blooming lovely new water bottle

Ocean Bottle x Liberty London bottle, £40

“Everything looks better in Liberty print and this UK eco water bottle brand’s new collab is no exception. There are three different floral patterns from the storied London design studio’s 150-year-old archive, including this joyful 1930s primrose and forget-me-not confection, blooming across various sized bottles and coffee cups. As always with Ocean, the bottle’s design is impeccable and it never leaks, plus proceeds from each sale helps remove 1,000 plastic bottles littering our seas. Every time I take a gulp throughout the day, it makes me smile. Small wins, eh?”

Spots & Stripes Anti Blemish Gel, £16

“Created by a magazine beauty editor who knows exactly what works, this is the one teen skincare brand my 15-year-old son will consistently use. The philosophy is natural but effective ingredients for tender, changing young skin. This spot zapper contains azeclair, a gentle derivative of azelaic acid, to tackle bacteria and inflammation, plus witch hazel and rosemary. He’s used it nightly for a fortnight and his cheek acne is already far less inflamed.”

Ancient + Brave True D3 + K2 , £12 for a month’s supply

“Now’s the best time to test your levels of vitamin D – key for boosting immunity and muscle and bone health – as we head into autumn gloom. The NHS recommends that everyone take a supplement between October and March (due to the lack of D-producing sunshine). This one, exclusively available from W-Wellness, contains a hefty 2,000IU daily dose of D3, alongside K2: the former helps with calcium absorption, the latter directs it to your bones. Just four pleasingly pepperminty sprays in your cheek needed each morning – easy peasy and good value too.”

Sisterly The Booster, £69 for a month’s supply

“The expertise of a consultant obstetrician and various nutritionists was harnessed to create this pregnancy and breast-feeding supplement. It contains 23 vitamins and minerals, including methylfolate, into which folic acid (traditionally taken in pregnancy) is converted. When taken in this form, cells can use it more efficiently. It’s easy to consume (good news for morning sickness sufferers): mix the sachet of powder with water for a pleasant orange and ango drink. Sisterly is a British brand you can trust: their multivitamin won gold in our 2026 Wellbeing Awards.  I’ve taken it for a year and have never had (a) fewer lurgies and (b) more energy.”

INGEBORG VAN LOTRINGEN

Our contributing beauty editor has cleaned up

Clinique Moisture Surge Exfoliating Glow Cleanser, £26

“Clinique’s ever-popular Moisture Surge franchise couldn’t be more aptly named – all its gel-based products pump skin full of weightless, long-lasting hydration. This peachy, bouncy, unscented and sulphate-free cleansing gel is no exception: despite its extravagant lather, it leaves your face not the least bit dry, just nice and clean. And polished – it’s packed with tiny, smooth aloe beads that feel like a buffing powder, dislodging dead cells without aggravating skin.”

SHOP

Cellcosmet Ultra Sensitive Cream, £225

“Is this price necessary for a decent barrier cream? No – there are plenty of good, accessibly priced creams that support reactive skin. But I’m very impressed with how fast and how noticeably this delicate fluid (which smells comforting despite being fragrance-free) dampens flare-ups on my face and the recurring eczema on my hands. It never fails to get rid of the inflammation. This Swiss luxury brands cuts no corners when it comes to clinically validating its formulas (all produced in-house under medical-standard conditions) so skin is in safe hands – and with a phalanx of protein fragments also included, it also boosts plumpness and elasticity.”

SHOP

La Roche Posay Effaclar Supramolecular Oil & Pores Correct Moisturiser, £16

“A hydrating, cool-feeling gel that instantly mattifies skin, this has instant-satisfaction appeal for oily skin and should have real long-term benefits as well. Snazzy molecular technology binds two hero ingredients for spot-prone skin together (niacinamide and salicylic acid) so they get delivered simultaneously, meaning synergistic double trouble for blemishes, oil slicks and inflammation. Shame about the high levels of alcohol and fragrance in here, though.”

SHOP

Maysama Aura Red Light Therapy Face Mask, £550

“A good LED mask should feature the clinically validated wavelengths (red, near-infrared and an optional blue). This one, designed solely for improving signs of ageing (featuring red and NIR light), stands out because it goes beyond the basics, but without nonsensical hype features. It’s got FDA Class II Medical clearance for age-fighting and a snug-fitting design and medical-grade silicone lining that delivers light more optimally, including to the eye, lip and under-chin area, in six daily minutes. It’s cordless, easy to wear and has a magnet-detachable battery. And you’ll look like a Dr Who Cyberman. Top marks.”

SJ CORFIELD-SMITH

A foundation for people who don't like foundation? Our beauty director is on it

Tower 28 Swipe Serum Foundation, £36

“This medium coverage foundation is made for anyone who usually struggles with base because it feels drying on sensitive skin or leads to clogged pores. For those reasons, it’s a great option for teens. It feels as light as a serum, has a breathable, non-comedogenic and anti-bacterial formula that doesn’t suffocate the skin, and it’s packed with calming ingredients that keep redness at bay. There are 36 shades, and it blends easily with fingers. But I have to meniont the new Baby Blender Brush, £36. I like to apply foundation just where I need it and the small, tear-shaped head is perfect.”

SHOP

Rituals Dog Wipes, £11

“If you are a proud dog mum like me then this new launch from Rituals will have you very excited. These are gorgeously scented wipes, ideal to use on muddy paws, droolly chops, or just to wipe over fuzzy fur when it smells a bit musty. The wipes are long and rectangular so work on the smallest pooches to bigger doggies like my ginormous Labradoodle.”

SHOP

Soap & Glory Glow Off Girl Melting Cleanser, £8.99

“Soap & Glory – best known for brilliant, affordable bodycare – has just launched a new range of skincare essentials all housed in bright, whimsical packaging, aiming to bring a moment of joy and fun to your everyday routine. There is a facial scrub, toner, face mask, hydrating serum, and day and night creams but as a lover of cleansing balms , this most appealled. It has a lovely fruity scent, a buttery texture that melts into a slippy oil so you can really massage everything away and rinses off leaving skin feeling bouncy. All for under a tenner.”

Karen Betts The KB Pen, from £95 (refill pen cartridges are £25)

“Karen Betts is the doyenne of permanent makeup in the UK. Her celebrity client list is hush hush, because it’s so mega, but she is known for working with Katie Piper. And now she has created a portable, personalisable 3-in-1 brow, eye and lip liner. You choose the shades that suit you best, and every one is a tone that genuinely works across all skin tones. Simply click your chosen shade into the pen, then swap in the next whether you’re lining lips, defining brows or framing eyes. It’s infinitely reusable, chic and stylish, and I now carry it everywhere.”
