Exciting new launches from Laneige and Ghd, and a super-chic new fragrance that smells like a million dollars but only costs £30 – welcome to the wonderful world of Glossy Picks
It’s all going on this week – new SPF launches galore, Laneige’s latest update to their cult lip mask, newness from Caroline Hirons’ skincare line, plus the £9 buttery lip balm we’ve all been cooing over in the office. Glossy Picks are go-go-go…

SARAH-JANE CORFIELD-SMITH
GTG Beauty Director
“I’ve never been a huge fan of powder foundations as they tend to look cakey on my skin and don’t offer enough coverage. My opinion has been changed, thanks to this. The powder feels ultra-fine on the skin and somehow manages to sink in so that it looks like a second skin, while also reducing shine but leaving just the right amount of luminosity. It delivers a medium level of coverage so you may need concealer in a few areas but otherwise a few swirly buffs of this all over and you’re done. It comes in seven shades but each spans about four different skin tones.”
SHOPEvolve Organic Beauty Body Sculpting Duo, £50
“No cellulite cream is ever going to obliterate it, however consistent use of a targeted product can really make a difference, and I’ve seen results with this gel-cream. It contains caffeine which helps smooth, plus AHAs to even out skin tone, and leave the skin feeling and looking silky. You can buy it on its own but it also comes in this bundle with the body gua sha. You use it with the cream, sweeping it up from your knees towards your hips for a lymphatic drainage and circulation boost. Repeated use is key for results.”
SHOPRiemann P20 Urban Shield SPF50+, £13.99
“P20 are known for their ‘apply once, lasts all day’ body SPFs and now they have launched three new daily face SPFs . Made with the same long-lasting broad spectrum protection, there is one for sensitive skins and one to tackle hyperpigmentation, but it was this antioxidant-rich version that caught my eye. It’s ideal for polluted city dwellers/workers (me), or anyone exposed to smoke, smog or dust (my current house renovation is a dust bowl). It leaves a velvety smooth finish making it a fabulous base for makeup. Plus, you get 10 hours of protection.”
SHOPSol de Janeiro Cheirose 71 Body Cream, £48
“If you find the normal Sol de Janeiro body butters too thick, you are in for a treat with this limited edition and lighter version. I’d recommend being quick to snag your tub because you know the teenage skincare addicts are going to swarm. Not only is the consistency lighter, making it ideal for warmer weather, but it also has a very subtle shimmer, leaving skin looking golden and glowy. It has the 71 scent, which for the uninitiated is Sol de Janeiro’s more musky and creamy fragrance.”

The What Supp Co Looks Good On You Beauty Vitamin Patches, £18
“Vitamin patches are set to be the next wellness obsession – no horse pills to swallow, no over-sweet gummies to chomp through, just a sticker to slap on your arm. They provide eight to 12 hours of slow-release vitamins and nutrients straight to the bloodstream at, apparently, eight times the amount that reaches the blood when processed by your digestive system. The What Supp Co’s are hard to resist, with their sense of fun, ease of use, and functional fragrances: each patch is scented to suit its purpose. The brand’s just-launched beauty patches deliver antioxidant and collagen-supporting actives (green tea, copper peptides, and more) and smell of jasmine, which is thought to help boost confidence. Sweet!”
SHOPSkin and Me 3-in-1 Moisturiser with SPF 50, £21.99
“It’s not easy to make a daily high-SPF, broad-spectrum sunscreen that feels elegant enough for people to gladly use it as their moisturiser, but Skin and Me have succeeded. One of three texture options, this unscented one for sensitive skin is very hydrating and comfortable but not at all oily, leaving your skin juicy instead of greasy. Makeup applies over it without a hitch – no pilling or dry patches. It has ectoin, algae and l-carnosine to keep free radicals and inflammation at bay, and a click-through dosing system so you know exactly how much to use. What more do you want?”
SHOPJoonbyrd Kaleidoscope Smoothing Body Serum, £78
“Any teen will be desperate to get her hands on these pretty, edibly-scented products, but don’t let their appearance fool you: this is serious bodycare. Joonbyrd is a range devised by a consultant dermatologist who packs her products with active ingredients, barrier protectants and fragrances proven to have a de-stressing, mood-boosting effect, and this fruity-sweet cream is no exception. Full of gently peeling ingredients (fruit enzymes and gentle alpha hydroxy acids), powerful skin brighteners like azelaic acid, and nourishing and antioxidant botanical extracts and prebiotics, this stuff works hard for the money, which is good because it obviously isn’t cheap.”
SHOP“Rhubarb and Palo Santo are two of the best-smelling things ever to my nose, and they both feature (alongside honeysuckle and tomato leaf) in this ode to hairstylist Adam Reed’s beloved gran. I know few people with a keener nose and more passion than Adam when it comes to fragrance, which is why it makes strange sense that he would launch his own perfume range – and that it features some of the most accomplished scents I’ve smelled recently (alongside baobab oil so you can spray it in your hair and get nourishing benefits). Better yet, they cost only £30.”

Ghd Duet Blowdry Limited Edition Galactic Lilac, £389
“Now this one’s definitely a splurge, but after hearing Victoria rave about how it’s the only tool that gives her a salon-quality blow dry at home, I had to give it a go. While not brand new, they’ve brought out three limited-edition summer colours and I’m obsessed with the lilac. The brush makes ease of wet-to-dry styling – a morning time saviour – and stays below 120 degrees to prevent heat damage. Its barrel shape reaches the roots for a more voluminous finish, while the bristles don’t snag hair so no tugging out those bouncy curls. Plus, it’s pretty foolproof to use with one setting – perfect if you’d rather skip the instruction manual.”
SHOPRevitalash Length Define Tubing Mascara, £32
“Revitalash’s growth serum is my go-to for naturally long lashes, so I was intrigued by their new mascara. As a fan of tubing mascaras (essential during hay fever season), I’ve put it through its paces with watery eyes. Not only is the wear impressive with no flaking or smudging, but the clever curved wand wraps and coats every lash evenly – a few swipes for mega-looking lashes. Plus, it’s formulated with their signature lash-loving ingredients to condition, strengthen and protect against breakage.”
SHOPLaneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Matcha Bubble Tea, £21
“If there’s one beauty buy I’d urge you to try, it’s a Laneige lip mask. No exaggeration – I’m still working through the festive scent from last November and it’s set to last me until this Christmas! Their latest launch comes in the ever-trending matcha flavour – but don’t worry, no green lips involved. Packed with hyaluronic acid, murumuru butter and shea butter, it deeply hydrates and soothes overnight, leaving your pout plump by morning. I also keep it on hand during summer days, relieving dry lips and cracks without irritation.”
SHOPThis Works In Transit Bronzing Serum, £38
“The In Transit range is back – skincare made for busy lives, with no compromise on quality. This bottle of golden glow is my go-to multitasker, delivering an instant, sun-kissed glow. Added hyaluronic acid and antioxidant plant oils hydrate and protect your skin barrier, while the 4 per cent vitamin C helps to brighten and even out skin tone. Apply solo for a deeper bronze, mix with moisturiser for a subtle glow or layer under makeup for a radiant base.”

Lush Super Milk Glitter Mist Spray, £20
“My curls already drink up the viral Lush Super Milk Conditioning Hair Primer and now my skin is too, thanks to this shimmery body spray formulated with the same, addictive notes of almond, coconut and lemon. The scent is long-lasting, and the glitter is subtle enough to be wearable — plus, the added carrageenan, a seaweed derivative, acts as an emollient to soften skin.”
SHOPSkin Rocks The Light Moisturiser, £58
“Skincare queen Caroline Hirons’s latest launch is this jelly moisturiser, which blends from a cream into a gel with a weightless, glass skin effect — perfect if you can’t stand heavy moisturisers, especially in summer. It is packed with moisture-retaining ingredients, from a succulent-inspired botanical stem cell complex to Australian superfruits rich in antioxidants. You’ll love the fragrance-free option if you have sensitive skin.”
SHOPElf Glow Reviver Melting Lip Balm, £9
“My latest handbag addition is this buttery, budget balm, packed with a hydrating blend of shea, mango and cocoa butter and hyaluronic acid. It melts onto lips with a mirror glaze and buildable colour: choose from six shades, including chocolate, toffee, cherry and my favourite for day-to-day, the peachy ‘strawberry shortcake’. Delicious.”
SHOPThe Ordinary UV Filters SPF 45 Serum, £15.80
“If you need a sunscreen upgrade, I highly recommend this affordable formulation from The Ordinary, which has replaced their now-discontinued Mineral UV Filters SPF 30, after feedback on its thick texture and white cast. They’ve certainly delivered: this ultra-light cream instantly melts into an invisible serum that hydrates skin without clogging pores. Ideal as a glowy summer base under your make-up.”
