“You’d be forgiven for mistaking these hair-boosting vitamin gummies for sweets. Their gummy bear shape and tropical flavour bring a little whimsy to your daily supplement routine. Each one is packed with credible, scientifically backed ingredients to support hair growth, reduce shedding and strengthen strands. They’re also bio-encapsulated so the nutrients are absorbed more efficiently than traditional tablets. “Meet the latest launch from cool US skincare brand, Innbeauty Project, a silky smooth vitamin C and peptide-packed serum that sinks into the skin without feeling greasy or oily (like some vitamin C serums can). Innbeauty pride themselves on delivering top level skincare without the top level price tag and all their products are refillable. This is the most expensive item in the range but it’s reflective of the active ingredients involved: 15 percent stabilized vitamin C (a high, effective concentration) plus four different peptides to reduce inflamation, repair damage and boost collagen production.”

Charles Worthington Scalp Restore Reviving Scalp Scrub, £7.49

“If you work out or use a lot of styling products, you may find you get a buildup of dirt and debris on your scalp that shampoo can’t shift and your hair continually feels and looks greasy. I certainly do, so every four to five hair washes I use a scalp scrub to slough everything away and give my hair a reset, and this new one is excellent. It has a creamy but gritty consistency that feels effective but not like it’s stripping all the good stuff from your scalp. You only need to rub a small amount onto wet hair, give it a massage and then rinse away before using your shampoo and conditioner as normal. It also smells divine.”

Dermalogica Pro-Collagen Banking Water Cream, £69

“Collagen banking is about preserving the collagen you have, while boosting production of future supplies so your reserves are fully stocked – and this lightweight moisturiser does just that. It’s thanks to the inclusion of peptides, which signal to skin cells to create more collagen and red algae extract that helps with skin healing which also boosts collagen production. I love the pump lid which provides the perfect dose. You can use it twice a day but if collagen banking is something that appeals, I’d recommend using this in the morning and a retinol in the evening for maximum plumping results.”

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil, £34.50

“There seems to be a rediscovery  of good old rosehip oil, so this re-launch of Trilogy’s much-loved pure rosehip is timely. Naturally endowed with vitamin C and small amounts of retinoic acid, alongside barrier-supporting essential fatty acids, this unscented oil is one that can support healthy ageing. As with any seed oil, it being organic (as this one is) really improves it efficacy. Face oils aren’t for everyone but if your skin is dry, a few drops in or under your moisturiser are a real boost.”

Saltair HA Body Hydrator, £25

“This is basically a giant hydrating face serum for your body. Unscented, weightless and fast-absorbing, it quenches skin without a hint of oil, which I like because said oil always gets in my clothes and sheets. Made up of water-based hydrators only (hyaluronic acid, algae extracts, electrolytes and amino acids), those with very dry skin may something creamier to keep their limbs comfy on arid days, though.”

Nira Pro 3 Laser, £643

“The third iteration of this rare at-home laser that’s actually clinically proven to improve crepiness, wrinkles and pigmentation works the same as its predecessors (two minutes, twice a day for 90 days should get you initial results). But it charges twice as fast, has ‘haptic feedback’ (so you can choose to laser in silence as it will vibrate instead of beep) and four more intensity levels (that’s nine in total). You do have to link up to an app to get access to the four extra levels, like unlocking some treasure in a video game – irritating for some (me), but you might be into that kind of thing. Still a very good device.”

Gisou Honey Milk Active Repair Leave-in Conditioning Mist, £30

“Hydrating hair mists are a real godsend if you have fine, wavy hair, because they inject life back into beachy waves without weight – unlike oil or silicone serums which can leave them stringy and limp. This milky mist replaces a previous version of my Gisou favourite and it’s just as good, except it smells heavily of cake/milkshake where its predecessor didn’t. Shame for me (I don’t like my hair clashing with my perfume), but it’s still great at perking up my hair and will work just as well on thicker and curlier locks.”

“We’re all familiar with vitamin patches now, but these are easily the most discreet ones I’ve tried. They’re completely clear, water-resistant, and the film itself is biodegradable. The immunity patch is designed to give your defence system a boost, packed with four key vitamins. Simply stick one on when you’re feeling a little run down (ideally on an area without much hair). I find it’s one of the easiest ways to top up on key vitamins – and far less annoying than swallowing pills.”

“This traditional British brand might not be your first thought for body wash, but its new scent is a lovely surprise. It hydrates, lathers well and leaves skin soft, while being affordable and easy to grab during your grocery shop. The shea butter and honey fragrance is warm, comforting and suits everyone. In my house that’s ideal, as people keep ‘borrowing’ my expensive products. Even my male housemate said, “That new one feels really soft and smells good” – a win for him and for my bank balance.”
