What do we do with all our testers?
Nothing goes to waste. Year-round, we give our testers to refugee charity Care For Calais, who look after people stuck in the asylum processing system with access only to the very basics. We take much-needed supplies to our local women’s refuge. We donate ten premium raffle prizes to The Katie Piper Foundation, the burns rehabilitation charity which raises tens of thousands of pounds at its annual carol concert.
We give hundreds of products to QVC presenter and friend of Get The Gloss Matilda Velevitch, a one-woman powerhouse supporting numerous refugee charities, including a new venture this year called 9 Kitchens. This sustainable catering company services the likes of Google and LVMH, with meals cooked by refugees using authentic recipes from their home countries. The money raised from beauty sales helps put them through catering training.

Best moisturiser, serum or oil for body

Skincare expert Fiona Brackenbury on the winner: “This cream and roller duo for the neck and dec delivers unprecedented results. I saw a marked difference in six weeks – a visible firming of slackness and tightening of crepiness. The tool helps with sculpting and contouring. It’s fairly expensive but the research, ingredients and understanding of the skin behind it ensure that you’re getting something truly effective.”
Best product for hands, feet and nails
Nail technician Michelle Class on the winner: “We see a lot more weak and damaged nails these days and this product helps rejuvenate the nail plate and protect it from damage. It goes deeper into the skin and it’s easier to wear on the go. We know this isn’t just expensive lightbulbs because every diode has been tested for efficacy. Well done for pushing the boundaries of home LED masks.”
Best bath and shower product
Makeup artist Genevieve Turley on the winner: “Put this in the shower and everyone in the house can use it everywhere. I love that the brand has considered how a woman’s body pH levels work in this formulation and is talking about women’s genitalia in straightforward language. It’s good for teenagers to be thinking in that way. A great product too if you’ve just had a baby.”
Best mascara
Aesthetic doctor and cosmetic dentist Dr Ayah Siddiqi on the winner: “The tube feels really sturdy, you can properly grab the handle and use pressure to apply in a steady way and coat each lash. The wand itself is pyramid-shaped to coat the outer lashes with the more dense end and the inner corner with the finer end. No clumps, ultra black with no flaking – the perfect mascara.”

Aesthetic doctor Dr Galyna Selezneva on the winner: “For busy women, this sachet presents the least hassle to make sure you are looking after your inner and outer self. Best sustainable brand or initiative
Journalist Jasmine Hemsley on the winner: “Not only does this women-empowering skincare brand have multiple accreditations for the impact of its products, including Cosmos certification (meaning organic and natural cosmetics you can trust), but it has incredible projects to shout about too. These include growing a nursery of climate-resilient baby coral in the Great Barrier Reef and a forest of 7000 trees on the South Downs.”
Editor's picks
GTG Editorial Director Victoria Woodhall on the winner: “With its retractable bristles, this innovative curling wand makes creating bouncy waves absolutely foolproof and snag-free – a total godsend for people like me who don’t otherwise have the time or skill to get a salon finish at home. And you don’t have to spend a fortune, unless you like the interiors-inspired colours so much that you then have to redecorate! Or is that just me?”
