As part of your initial hour-long consultation, you’ll receive a 3D skin scan (or scalp imaging if it’s hair you’re here for), a medical questionnaire and – unusually – a lifestyle and personality questionnaire. This helps Dr Maude gain a fuller picture of your expectations, your time commitments and your mindset: for example, you might be someone who likes topline facts only, or who prefers granular detail or time to weigh up the options. A skincare overhaul is part of the process, with clinical brands such as Skinceuticals, ZO and Obagi top choices. Injectables such as Profhilo, Sunekos, Harmonyca and polynucleotides are a key part of her toolbox for skin health and glow, while Julaine, the glow-giving biostimulator of the moment, is proving hugely popular with perimenopausal clients noticing changes in their skin quality and thickness.

Skin boosters, which nourish the skin with amino acids and minerals for a lit-from-within effect, are a favourite too. Teoxane’s trending Babyglow protocol is the very latest of these, while skin booster Jalupro, she says, is a great way to hydrate the lips without filler. However, she says, nothing beats Botox. “It’s as close to magic as we can come,” she says.
